Ill give shane his credit he hurt lesnar in round 1 but in no way was it close to being stopped. 2 reasons 1. Carwin only landed about 4 good clean shots that i saw the left uppercut 2 elbows and 1 over the top. 2 lesnar was defending himself. Lesnar has trained like no other since childhood thats the difference between him and carwin...lesnar has been training for 5 rounds and will ALWAYS be better conditioned that carwin if he keeps up his training regiment. Also this is the UFC.

Fedor is an MMA legend, you probably shouldn't just throw his name around morons like Frank Mir. Shane Carwin is undefeated but still early in his career. Sizewise, Carwin looks like the best matchup for Brock, no doubt, BUT skillwise, Fedor is the most dangerous fighter alive. Carwin's right hand is a sledge hammer, and even though he's not as fast as some fighters he's smart and knows how to use timing and leverage. If he seriously studies the full spectrum of styles he could be the best. Up to him.
looking back a lot of wrestlers go very far in mma, but most of them seem to be only strong in wrestling and not very well rounded and eventualy are beat, i hope carwin does well mind he is very good for the sport

Shane Carwin is a really smart fighter. The more time passes, the better he will get. In terms of ability to learn new skills, I would give the edge to Shane Carwin over any other HW fighter... Fedor notwithstanding.
Fight was cancelled till 108, I was watching UFC when it started at UFC 1 in 1993, i didnt jump on the bandwagon I am a former boxer, and was in many fight clubs and im telling you anything can happen in a fight !! Carwin has a good chance at catching Lesnar !!!
Carwin v. Lesner is no longer a scheduled fight. Brock cancelled on 106 due to illness. Fight was rescheduled for 108 and brock then reported to Dana White unable to attend that one either because his unknown illness was infact Mono. Now Dana and Brock are unsure as when or if Brock will fight next. Also, Carwin couldn't make 108 anyway due to knee surgery. There will be an Interim Heavyweight title fight very soon. probably between Shane Carwin and Cain Valasquez!
I just think he needs to get used to what hes doing man. He's good, but not great. If there is any one reason why he dominates it would have to be size. @crazymike44 I thought that Mir was going to want it more. Carwin goes after his opponents like a beast hungry at the smell of blood. I was amazed at Mirs lack of energy and fight. Its like he thought it was a weigh in. Once people see a fighter lose that way, they lose faith in their ability and the fighters done. If he wins his next fight he still looks iffy.

not sure Mir will be stupid enough to sit in close range with carwin. he'll use the leg and head kick judiciously and force carwin to close a greater distance. and unlike an idiot like gonzaga, expect mir to be tucking in his chin when he strikes. and when carwin attacks he'll be moving his head and backing away to create distance. AND THATS JUST IN THE STRIKING DEPT ALONE. yikes! gl carwin, mir just has a loooot of weapons at his disposal.

Carwin's right hand is a sledge hammer, and even though he's not as fast as some fighters he's smart and knows how to use timing and leverage. If he seriously studies the full spectrum of styles he could be the best. Up to him.

Fight was cancelled till 108, I was watching UFC when it started at UFC 1 in 1993, i didnt jump on the bandwagon I am a former boxer, and was in many fight clubs and im telling you anything can happen in a fight !! Carwin has a good chance at catching Lesnar !!!

Carwin v. Lesner is no longer a scheduled fight. Brock cancelled on 106 due to illness. Fight was rescheduled for 108 and brock then reported to Dana White unable to attend that one either because his unknown illness was infact Mono. Now Dana and Brock are unsure as when or if Brock will fight next. Also, Carwin couldn't make 108 anyway due to knee surgery. There will be an Interim Heavyweight title fight very soon. probably between Shane Carwin and Cain Valasquez!

I just think he needs to get used to what hes doing man. He's good, but not great. If there is any one reason why he dominates it would have to be size. A 220lb guy would have a MUCH better chance of trying to man handle a man his weight as opposed to overworking himself trying to handle Lesnar. I should know. Football drills make people tell me stuff like, "damn, I've never gotten that tired trying to just drive someone back"... I'm 6'7" and I im 495lbs of fat and muscle. Can I do UFC? lol

I guess you could say, birth? lol I was always tall and a little on the heavy side. I used to be that kid whose shoulders were at the same level as the top of all the other kid's heads all through grade school. I was like 6'2" by the time I was in the 9th grade. Senior year i was 6'5" and its been three years since and now I'm up to 6'7". Also, 495lbs is about 150lbs too much for my build and muscle weight.

Yesssir, there's no mistake. I actually just weighed myself again yesterday and im right at 502lbs. I know it sounds like a lot and nobody believes me when I tell them how much i weigh because I don't look ANYWHERE NEAR that heavy, but I assure you its a real number. If I wasn't muscular i'd be a big, tall sack of fat and bone. Luckily for me, highschool football hooked me up with a good build. Hehe.

Whats so hard to believe? Again, I will add that ANYONE who looks at me always guesses in the 275lb-375lb range, lol.

ohic well there is a difference between being in shape and being high% bodyfat, a man/woman can be physically extremely fit but still have the disposition of a whale, not saying that it is common but take for example if someone worked out everyday and had say a resting heart rate of 48, had a bmi of 30-50% bodyfat but could run 5 miles easy and lift 80-100% of his/her own body weight via chest press and squat double, but couldn't stop eating horrible foods

So I have a good understanding of MMA from more than a decade of practice and of being a fan. I can honestly say that some of Lesnar's fans are some of the most ignorant MMA fans ever. If looks determined who was a great fighter than Kimbo and Lesnar would be unbeatable. its safe to say that this is anyones fight. neither fighters have had such even matches. carwin is just as big as lesner so he wont be able to take him down as easily and since hes a wrestler too, it just makes it that much harder. because lesner HAS to take him down in order to win. I'm thinking Brock will take this one to the ground because that's where he obviously smothers his opponents, but I think he could withstand some standup as well. If you watch the Gonzaga bout, Gabe was able to take him down but he let him get back up, and I don't think Brock will give him that space.
