  • that battle system looks really boring sorry.. ffxiii is much more fast paced and exciting..

  • @VanilleAlistair Yeah a battle system where all you do is press x over and over is exciting.

  • This game was outstanding!! I am buying a system and this game just because I miss it.

  • Replaying

  • nostalgia...

  • Ahhhhh the first battle with T.G Cid........game was EZPZ after you got him.

  • Im very disapointed in your stats, job choices and what lvl u r. When im at where your at I was already lvl 67

  • @crazychickendude91 I was playing for fun on an emulator...you want to see my real stats? Come over to my house and see me play on the actual system...you people are too picky. Just watch the video.

  • @crazychickendude91 uh i think the enemy level up with u so it dont matter if ur high level dude...

  • @crazychickendude91 dude, stfu who cares

  • i've only played FFTA2 and i enjoyed it a lot! but the story was kinda too simple and directed more at younder audiences. now i heard there was a FFT game with a good story but i can't seem to remember which one it was. was it FFT, FFTA or maybe tactics ogre?

  • I haven't played the FF series since FF X (so FF IX was the last I played), but FF Tactics and FF VII were in my top 10 favourite ps one games (another one from Squaresoft was Parasite Eve). shit, the truth is that there are no games like this today, I know it sounds boring but that's the way it is. the graphics here is pretty basic, but you forget about graphics after 5 mins of gameplay which really absorbs. needless to say that the game industry was at it's prime at those ps one days.

  • where can i download this game ? :D

  • Bad ass game. Never gets boring.

  • epic..epic..game. I finished this game about 7th time since PSX glory days till now I play it on psx emuator. Squire ramza with dual sword from ninja is a beast.

  • Here's where u can get the Vanish Mantle, isn't here?

  • What, no Calculators? Those guys were awesome.

Is this still your favorite game today?

  • @mjavor I'm going to say yes because I still can't think of a game that I enjoy half as much with regards to replay value. I bought the War of the Lions version for my IPod touch about a month ago and I'm still playing it. I like all the additions they made for it. But it is very annoying to play without a joystick though...

  • @guardiane This was my favourite game when I was a kid as well... haven't played it for years though. I can definitely see how it could be annoying without a joystick, I remember playing through the battles at lightning speed on the PS1 hahaha

  • @mjavor Dark Knight in the psp version owns. Sanguine Sword (Gaffgarion's sword HP Drain move) + having any knightsword equipped = unstoppable, except by undead, but Crushing Blow works (has a chance of inflicting stop). I haven't tried the Onion Knight class, primarily because it doesn't get skills of any kind so meh. I like the Dark Knight class more anyway. I wouldn't mind if they could make another remake of it for the PS3, they could include Paladin, I mean why not? Dark Knight is included.

  • FF Golden Age: Snes/Ps1

  • Orlandu is so Godlike...

  • the best game!!!

  • i want them to make a remake of fft for ps3

  • @Flipazn777 most of us are rooting for a ff7 remake...get in line :)

  • @MrPs103 A Final Fantasy Tactics remake would be a lot better. FFT always has been the best game in the Final Fantasy series.

  • I wanna play this game again? Can anyone tell were I can download it?

  • @titinitintin download yourself into a transportation vehicle, click and drag to nearest store with psx games in stock, upload into store, search for fft, mentally click checkout, ensure credit card information is going through a secure channel, click finish and "x".

  • Memories :D

  • I absolutely LOVE the sound people make when they die on this game. Gratifying when you make a kill but it gives a bit of panic when it happens to you.

  • Tactics is the best FF ever!

  • Hacks

  • I love this game! I also love giving them all feather books and making them float so they they look like they're walking on air :D

  • This game rocks. I want a FFT PS3!!!

  • @jleack You got it, it's out on psn now...

  • @jleack Disgaea 4 is as close as you'll get

  • I signed in just to like this video.

  • lol fun to max out lvl in the very begging of the game

  • This is still my second favorite game of all time. Crazy huh?

  • @jleack its pretty high on my fav list as well/ very addictive

  • clouds the best!

  • I wasn't going to try this because I've read there are less jobs in it than FFTA2, and I adore a big variety of jobs...but this game play looks really fast comparatively, so I'll try it.

  • @shemhazai48 true true, but still maybe because i played it like 12 years ago in ps 1.. and in psp he can change into dark knight.. well i dont know it just the image in my head like that.. hehe

  • this was the best FF ever, i even had cloud

  • Calculator owned this version. Blew all the way through with one. Quite literally.

  • best tactis i ever played, i never got cloud though...

just one thing that i hate from this game.. is that ramza cant change into white knight or black knight

  • @kageroooo1 yes ii knowwww! i hated that soo much too. hes the main character so he should have a special job class, not just stupid squire

  • I honestly don't care for any of the FF games, but Tactics is by far one of the best and original games I've ever played. Tweekin' again to play it, but thanks to PS Network being down for God knows how long...@#$!

  • I can honestly say that I miss some games having text instead of all the talking. I don't know, it just gives the game a certain feeling.

  • @jimbolimbo369 Set speech volume to 0% and enable subtitles. There's your text only game.

  • @jimbolimbo369 yea i might have gotten mad at aerith in ff7

  • no se si hables español , pero ramza, puede ser un job mas poderoso con dos espadas, un espadachin con dos espadas estaria mucho mejor, eres master enninja , saca la habilidad de dos espadas y cambia el job a uno mas fuerte resistente y ataque :)

  • I loooove this song. Always have

  • One of the most satisfying games to finally beat. . . . I loved the challenge to this!

  • so many hours of my young life well spent on this :P

  • im downloading this shit on my ps3 hell yea.. Classic game

  • i remember my ramza was a chemist with Guts(Squire), Counter(Monk), Two swords(Ninja), Teleport(Time mage)

  • i fucking love this game. this is basically my childhood.

  • i loved the fight on the waterfall map, with all the mediator's i think.

  • I love the noise when a bad guy dies, "RAAHHHH!!!"

  • this game i remember came out after FFVII on ps2 and i was so looking forward to it to check it out only to scream- WHAT A LOAD OF WANK and swiftly went in the fkin bin.

  • Best game ever. I still play it daily on my psp. :)

  • well im now on my way to find my ps1 to go play this epic game! CYA

  • Yes, getting cloud at chapter 4 can be problematic since he starts at Level 1, like a fresh recruit from the Soldier Office. Also, you need to get his Materia Blade in Bervenia Volcano. You can train him but it will be a long time. However, FFT gives huge amounts of experience and JP to Cloud. As long as I can remember playing his character, I receive around 50 exp + 40 jp for every successful action with him when he is in Levels 1 to 20.

  • It sucks. This game is such an underrated gem in the old Square Library and it gets passed up by everything else.

Dissidia FF doesn't even give so much as a throwaway reference to the game, they just don't fucking care about it. Will Dissidia 012 give two shits about Tactics? No, but it'll give us the characters we didn't actually like from FFXII who doesn't even deserve to be in the same universe as Ramza, Agrias and Delita. You know, the whiny fucking teenager whose name I can't remember.

  • @WinstonFisher His name was Vaan, and I only remember this out of hatred.

  • @WinstonFisher 'Will Dissidia 012 give two shits about Tactics?' No, it won't , because enix doesn't want to have references with squaresoft games, everything went to shit with IX, males became huge flaming faggots (not all) and females became... 'men', because men were so gay that they looked like the same. Dress Vaan with a decent T-shirt and you'll think it's a woman, similar concept with Tidus, face= fag , clothes= even more...

You probably wouldn't like to see Ramza in that environment.

  • Ninjas Kick Ass!

  • After all these years, I still get giddy when I hear this music. Even giddier when I hear those screams of death.

  • lol you can get the vanish mantle here it owns

  • Can't really say how many times i have played this.

Been playing it ever since i was 12.

Six years and im still playin it lol.

  • This game... Just thank god I got to find out A game like this, there are probably games I don't know that are as good as this one, but I'll always remember this game :).

  • Are you playing final fnatasy tactics for playstation one?

  • This is the 1st thing i bought as soon as i got my PS3 hooked up and running lol

  • @InsaneOo i did the same thing. hahaha

  • I gotta get this on PSN, but my Ps3 broke for the 2nd time after only working 1 year... and just before it broke i bought FF7,8,9 and Vagrant Story >.>...

  • BEST FUCKIN GAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAMMME

  • hmm.. I am huge fans of the FFTA seris and Pretty much any Square*SOFT* Game.

I'm pretty interested... This is on the PS?

  • @o0OPanduhO0o the original is on the PS1 and PS3 via the PSN, and there was a slightly revamped version released on the PSP a couple years ago.

And sometime in early 2011 it's coming to the app store for iOS devices.

  • @KazersFury No original is on gameboy

  • @ROMhaxfan57 Wrong. Final Fantasy Tactics on PS1 game came out in 1998, FFT Advance on gameboy came out in 2003.

  • noone ever plays the gameboy vertion except for me and my best friend :(

  • @ROMhaxfan57 dude, thats like in my top 5 favorite GBA games, and definately in my top 15 games of all time =D

  • @KoolNedyarb Yay. Most youtube videos use the ps1 vertion

  • MuaiThaips - Totally forgot about cloud! I had that big Brady FFT book that showed how to unlock him. Unfortunately you can't once you pass a certain point in the story. With no recent game saves close to that point I said screw it and moved on. lol Which also reminds me of how not having a previous game save could screw you royally. Certain battles didn't allow you to prep your team before a battle so you were stuck with whatever equipment they had on. Those battles never did turn out well :(

  • can you make a tutorial on how to get cloud int he begining

  • I totally agree with Lenoch!! Unfortunately for my friend he had actually bought "the new FF game" and came straight to my house to play it. We were amazed by the opening credits and ready to kick some ass. Then when we got to the game play were were saddened. Like Len, it just wasn't FF. But, considering he was out 50 bucks, we had time to kill and we were FF fans we gave it a shot. Turned out, after an hour we figured out the mechanics and were hooked. I agree dude, easily in my top 10 favs!!

  • @DarkMikaruX I really don't understand how people can go around commenting on different entries in the series saying "it isn't Final Fantasy". Isn't every new entry in the series something different, a stand alone game borrowing a few elements from previous titles? Aside from Mogs, Chocobos and Cid, every game is basically different, and from my understanding Tactics has all of those, it's just silly comparing apples to oranges.

  • @caitshiznit Its not silly at all. It has Final Fantasy on the cover & is made by Square. It's not an apples to oranges comparison at all. No different from when Konami released Contra 3 and introduced overhead levels. Granted, wasn't my favorite at all but it worked & in the end it was still a Contra game. And by saying it isn't a FF game, we are really talking more about the interface, how the world, characters & combat are portrayed. FFT is diff than any other FF game released. Period!

  • @DarkMikaruX You're talking out your fucking ass, all final fantasy games in the are different unique titles separate from one another. "we are really talking more about the interface, how the world, characters & combat are portrayed.", what about Final Fantasy VIII versus VII, just because Cloud isn't in it and the junction system was introduced doesn't make it a Final Fantasy? Please, you're just mad because their wasn't enough androgynous anime people in this one. Please shut up.

  • @SkySweetie The reason ai checked this video out is because this game is widely regarded as "one of the best games of all time". I wouldn't classify myself at all as a "strategist", but definitely as a number-crunching, stas-whoring RPG-fanatic.

  • @MikeLenoch5 I rented this game way back in the day and I was furious when I found out how the game mechanics were. I wasn't into strategy games at all. I wanted my money back. Well.... Turns out, this is easily on my top 5 games list of all time.

This game not only has a great storyline, but it is the single most "fun" game to be published under the name "Final Fantasy". It is pure fun. Great story... What more could you ask for?

  • I fail to see this game's appeal.

  • @MikeLenoch5 :[ That makes me sad. You have to be a strategy person, who's willing to train like a bitch. It's very different.

  • FFT was a deep tale of political and moral intrigue. To this day, someone can play it and relate to the events/characters.

Then Square goes and makes the game that begins with a snowball fight. Advance is good, but its story is completely different. Thus, I couldn't get into it, because a story about school kids holds no appeal to me.

Point is, I want a successor to FFT. This generation needs more "smart" games.

  • Why in the fuck does Square Enix suck so bad?

Squaresoft was great in the 1990's.

Final Fantasy has steeply gone downhill.

They refuse to continue the Chrono series.

    They sold away Xenogears

They turn out bullshit sequels and bastardizations and half assed remakes of older Final Fantasies...

They need to make a new Final Fantasy Tactics in the tradition of the original --not that fairy ass light weight bitch FFTA crap.

  • @Ninjadelusion the answer is "no more Hironubo Sakaguchi no more Amano Yoshitaka" tht´s the answer :)

  • @mogaby13 Yeah I know. I was feeling like a sojourner in a strange land for a while. Every time I would talk shit about kingdom hearts and FFTA and FF and SE in general the fanboys would come out and cry and pitch hissy fits. Figures it takes visiting a video on a gem like FF Tactics to find like-minded people on the matter. People who knew when the golden age of rpg's was.

  • @Ninjadelusion They need to get Matsuno back on the job. Whenever he directs a game (not juts produces, I mean actually DIRECTS!), it's almost 90% likely it will kick ass like Vagrant Story and FF Tactics. And of course Tactics Ogre.

  • @WinstonFisher Matsuno is okay. I don't think FFXII was "that" great compared to the games before it, although it was good and vagrant story is highly overrated in my opinion... That said Matsuno is better than the garbage they have been using lately.

Tetsuyo Nomura should be reduced back down to character art designer.

I'd like to see them give Kitase or Nojima the reigns over the next big project.

  • @Ninjadelusion You thought Vagrant Story was overrated? Blasphemy I say! But yeah I agree with you about the current staff. However, keep in mind that Kitase also gave us FFVIII (and I don't think ti was that bad though a lot of people hated it). And isn't Nojima just a scenario writer? Well either way, agree to disagree on who should do what. My personal favorites were Matsuno and Kitase mainly because Kitase gave us FFVI and Matsuno gave us FFT.

  • @WinstonFisher VS wasn't a favorable experience for me. As for the plot in and of itself, it just isn't something I think belongs in the category. The plot could probably be placed on 5-10 pages and nothing really significant. In terms of cinematics and directing style, it was decent. I just don't care for the game as a whole --I place high emphasis on the storytelling aspect of these games more than any other element.

  • @WinstonFisher Nojima is scenario writer, people writers have things in their heads that the directors never interpret because they are not psychic. Nomura was character art and I believe he ran FFX. I have more "faith" in Nojima and certainly yes -- Kitase than I do in Nomura's cookie cutter soft-core kingdom hearts abominations. He is becoming a hasbeen even in his art. He can still get it done though. Matsuno is good. I didnt mean to say he wasnt.

  • @WinstonFisher As for the original Final Fantasy Tactics; it is easily the most complete game I have ever played in the RPG/SRPG category.

I'd rate FFVII higher overall because of story, characters, music, stye, etc; but in terms of game play and everything else, it is the complete package. FFT is easily in my top 3.

Oh, and about FFVIII... I actually loved it. That game came in the shadow of FFVII and people tend to despise it unfairly.

  • @Ninjadelusion Like I said, I didn't really hate VIII at all, I seem to see a lot of people hating on it. I actually need to play it all the way through before I can really pass judgment as I only got past the first disc. As for VII I really liked it as well. VII was definitely very unique for its time and it still is fun to come back to. Tactics however is my absolute favorite of the FF spinoffs and possibly of the FF games as a whole.

  • @WinstonFisher Been years, but I think FFVIII begins to pick up at the end of disc 2. Anyways, yeah. FF T is easily the best spin off bar none and does compete with the numbered canon.

  • @Ninjadelusion

"You bustin' on Kingdom Hearts and Final Fantasy XIII?! You stupid BICH! I SHOULD KILL YOU!"

  • @anythingnew Come get some, fan girl.

  • @Ninjadelusion

I was just kidding lol. I don't even like FFXIII, but I do enjoy KH. Not the newer ones, though.

  • @anythingnew lol, k. I'm just story-biased. FFXIII missed the mark. Kingdom Hearts is decent for the "game" and a light story, but the standard I always measure games against is from Squaresoft of the 1990's.

  • @Ninjadelusion

Kingdom Hearts has a different nostalgic feel from Squaresoft, but they're both good at making me cry at night.

  • @Ninjadelusion Golden Age? Video Games haven't been around long enough to have any sort of age.

  • @Mmmathers4 motion pictures aren't much older, yet the late 20's-50's were considered the golden age of film.

  • @Ninjadelusion

To be perfectly fair, RPG as a whole has never been fairing too badly, as far as I'm concerned. FFX-2, Gothic 3, Demon's Souls and Dungeons & Dragons Online, just to name a few, have done wonders in keeping my thirst for RPG's of all sorts at bay, with their immense replay values. While the market is increasingly littered with more and more crap, there are still games out there that hold up the standards, in my opinion.

  • @Ninjadelusion the 90's were an amazing time for gamers....i miss those days! just beat ruby and emerald weapon the other night :)

  • @Ninjadelusion I like Kingdom Hearts, and I think Versus XIII looks promising, but it has taken 5-6 years and it just entered full development.

And we have gotten FFX and The World Ends With You as well.

It's just that everyone will think things from their childhood or when they were younger are better than the current things.

Remember how your parents would tell you things from when they were younger were better than your things when you were younger?

  • @xfma100 I have considered the perspective of a child in the matter, and I rule it out.

Look at FFXIV. Its such a failure that its absolutely free to play right now. You cant attribute it to mere opinion and childhood prejudice when the developer knows its that bad. SE is making inferior games as the timeline advances. Maybe some day theyll make games right again--though technological advancement in graphics is time consuming and fund heavy so i doubt it.

  • @Ninjadelusion True. But I don't play MMOs from SE anyways. But they have also gave us The World Ends With You, which was 3 years ago... But still.

But SE is horrible with developing games. I mean Versus XIII was announced in 2006 wasn't it? That's just horrible.

And some people did enjoy FFXII and FFXIII. Everyone has different tastes.

At least they haven't gotten as bad as what has happened to game series such as Spyro.

  • @xfma100 Yeah but FFXII was acceptable aside from the stupid battle system.

  • @Ninjadelusion I agree with that.

  • @Ninjadelusion i agree 100 percent with u man

  • @Ninjadelusion i agree 100 percent with u

  • ITs gay as damn. They should have added RAmza into Final Fantasy dissidia.

  • What system is this? I have FFTA on the GBA im gunna start it for the first time

  • When I first played the game in the beginning it's freaken hard. They all turned to crystals But the more I played I loved it. I love the sound people make when they die. that yeaaaaaahhhrrr sound.. LOL.

  • Great game! It's funny cause it should only take a few seconds to cross the entire map but could take hours cause of random battles. Really makes you feel like your traveling. Epic.

  • I miss this game...I should shell out the money on Ebay for a fresh copy...

  • @spike007980 I still own the original of this game, bought it back in like elementary school and kept it through the decades. I remember i used to wake up early for school just so I could get a mission in, haha. I now hold all other strategy rpgs up to this standard unfortunately . best game ever imo. I think i may start a new campaign now...

  • @lVlegalith42 I scored a copy of the game and a strategy guide for it as well...for 20 bucks :D WIN!

  • @spike007980 got mine me tooo :D

  • @cerberu1s I say we celebrate with the finest stout mankind has invented...GUINNESS! BRILLIANT!

  • @lVlegalith42

Haha, you could be my twin brother. This is exactly what I used to do, and I'd get in trouble for it all the time. Sometimes if I was about to get caught, I would just turn off the TV and run, and hours later I would come back to see my PS1 on and Ramza and his crew faithfully marching.

  • it is SO FUCKING PLEASURABLE hearing the sound of ramza's sword slicing through the flesh, aaaah, good memories...

  • why u nv use orlandu?

  • It must have been a goof that this game was made so well because Square hasn't even tried to do an update much less a true sequel.

  • Foolish thief ! "Let's kill him for gils !"

Don't you know you face Ramza Beoulve, the true savior of ivalice alongside Cloud Strife, the chosen one who kicked the One Winged Angel's ass !?

  • i was always surprised by the graphics of this 16 bit game

  • this game was perfect

  • @potatoroller no matter how hard anyone tries, you will never be able to remake this game.

  • All the characters look so fat in this game.

  • Sadly you'll be waiting for a while... In fact we'll probably never see one. But at least those of us with iPhone/iPad are getting this classic ported over pretty soon. This game was truly epic.

  • I loved this game but eventually got stuck on a difficult fight, and the game wouldn't let me go back and try leveling my party.

  • @Smaugren let me guess...1vs1 boss fight against wiegraf? lol

  • @Xyntech06 No it was a regular story line battle but it's been so long I can't quite remember which (I think it may have been in the desert).

  • FYI, this is a PS1 game, not a gameboy game. Get your shit straight!! FFTA (the gameboy version), sucked ass! The game was a fricken chore to complete! FFT on the otherhand is, and forever will be, a masterpiece!

Even today, every strategy game with style comparible to FFT, the AI is so poor, you don't even have to try. In FFT, until you get Orlandu, the AI is amazingly smart! Because Orlandu is so powerful, he skews the rules of the AI so they don't properly predict what will happen next.

  • @asdfgoogle lol, you're so right. Once you get Orlandu and all the other knights the games difficulty runs downhill. The demon bosses were getting destroyed left and right. But before, I would have "oh shit" moments when fighting Wiegraf's demon form or even Gaffgarion, but then I learned about auto-potion and so everyone learned it. This game actually felt like advanced chess and I loved it for that. Hope they bring back the style in the future.

  • @rickdarko Absolutely! It's been my single most anticipated squeal since I played the original. When I heard about FFTA, I was SO excited, but NOTHING about FFTA compares to FFT. It does have an interesting story, but the graphics, gameplay, and AI are all SHIT. It was a complete let down.

I'm still waiting for that true sequel!!!

  • your computer is laggy, son

  • this shit was awesome!!! I played this in gameboy =) ah good times. Got this game from a trade.

  • epic game !

one of my all time favorite games no matter how amazing games will come out in the future.

i still own this game and ps1 haha

  • @rot105and dose this come for ds DX i want it i played the one on gb and i fucken loved it and i want to play this one i hope it is for ds also Q.Q

  • @TheItsme888

just download ps1 emulator and this game and u can easily play it !

  • dose this come in ds?

  • goddamn i miss this game... nice party setup, i cheated and used a gameshark to make Ramza powerfu (Holy Swordsmanl, The gameplay in this game is just so addicting

  • this is for gameboy right?

  • guys they say you can get the vanish mantle here? if i finish the mission for this map but haven't got the mantle, can i go back again and find it?

  • I thought I got tired of this game until I played "Final Fantasy Tactics Advance"...now I want nothing more than to play this again. The GBA Version lost all the epicness and strategy IMHO. It was much too easy when it came to battle and much too annoying when it came to laws.

  • @ShinXephon thats why i bought a gameshark and just removed the laws, but nothing else. You still get tempted to buff your characters tho

  • i got this game then stopped after a few lvls bcuz i didnt kno your people can die for good and ended up with 2 people and was screwed

  • DUDE DUDE CAREFUL!! You've kept Rafa and Malak on your team!! Bad luck dude bad luck. And bad characters.

  • laggy lol ;P

  • guys. where can i find materia blade? a website says it can be dug in mount bervenia> but where the hell is mt.bervenia? there's only a town called bervenia in psp version. please help. hahaha

    @cezto999

I nvr played the psp version but in the ps version I believe it was in gulg volcano on the highest rock. So if this lvl is unlocked try there :D

  • @cezto999 In the original, it was located on the highest tier in the volcano stage. You need the move find-item ability. idk about the psp version but I imagine it's the same.

  • best ff i miss it so much

  • This game and Earthbound are the most under-rated games ever

  • Agrias Hater

  • @yungsmash009

You get a mediator and have them invite. Mediators have the progression from Chemists > White Mage > Oracle > Mediators.

  • any1 wanna play via ad hoc party send me a message.

  • The best game !

  • the problem with cloud is that he has a very long ct

  • much better than the ds & gameboy versions imho ...

  • can u play cloud?o.O

  • What did you use to alter the game?
