I... never understood that. How can a plant like that attract all that attention? Sure, it's unusual, but I wouldn't but 100 dollars worth of plants just because it is in the window. And even if I were to buy plants from that store, I would just buy Audrey II, because that's the reason I WENT IN THERE! It's like if I worked at a hair salon, and I put a purple and orange wig in the window, no one is going to walk by and ask for the wig!

Alot of money to be made in this shop now that Audrey II is there. While the business is now looming Mushnik's ego is boosting; expressed by not labeling the Audrey II by the actual name. Also, while Symour is partially responsible for this happening he doesne't seem to be recognized for it; putting further emotion into hismind. While this maybe a very important scene it just doesn't seem that exciting toboast about.
