Think of it this way, under the new rule, companies getting bailout is allowed to (and will) pay their execs 500K each:
(1.6 trillion/500K (per executive))/300M Americans x 100 = 1%
This means the gov can support the top 1% of Americans with $1.6 trillion of your $. You can say well the $ doesn't go to the execs it goes to a company. But the company pays the execs!

Bush is gone, he kept us safe. Obama has done nothing except fuck up in his first two weeks. Your man is in now, so I would suggest shutting the fuck up until you have something to talk about. So far he has bombed, no stimulus, no transparency, no plan for guantanamo prisoners and he is on the same Bush timeline with the Iraq war.
Lets toss out capitalism for socialism, we are only the most powerful nation in the world because of capitalism. Yes lets do that!!!!!

Do you not remember that before Daschle was caught, he claimed that it was just a giant mistake that he knew nothing about? Do you not see that Obama has retraced his words over and over in the past month? Looks like you're a good critic of the facts, but state none yourself. Go ahead and continue the name-calling. See ABC blogs and look for bumps in the road. All of his unpaid taxes equaled out to around $220,000. He did pay about half of it off once he got caught.
As far as your question about socialism. As far as I know, the more the government takes from the population and disperses how they please, the more socialist a nation is. Criticisms of private business also falls under that category. As far as I see, Obama's pork-filled stimulus plan which will double our nations debt is just that.

Obama promised so much. Any level headed person thought he was promising to much and was saying whatever he had to get elected. Now everything he does is going back on his word. Also he sends a stimulus package to the senate that is so one sided toward the left and then claims they are not playing fair. Sound like something a child would do. At least he hasn't passed any of his socialized medicine yet. That will be the end of this country. Can't wait till taxes 3X so I can see a doc 1/yr

He made the money as part of a lobbying firm, by Obama's own declaration he shouldn't have even been considered for the post.

What we're seeing more and more with this guy is broken promises. "I will not have lobbyists in my administration"...except all of these guys. "I will have the most ethical administration in history"...except for the tax cheats and the pay for play experts. "I will outlaw torture of terror suspects and close Gitmo"...well maybe, if i can find someone to take these guys, but in the meantime I'll widen the practice of renditioning so other countries can do my torture for me... what a joke.

Listen, Daschle made over 5 million dollars. His tax error was a failure to report free use of a car as income, and the mistake involves less than 3% of his income. People commit greater tax fraud by lying about how much they put in the collection basket at church. I don't particularly care about Daschle, but this is a sad political assassination. Would this mistake affect his job? No. Is he a bad role model? Most Americans don't even know who he is.

I will not defend ANY politician for a transgression. He/she MUST own up. But regarding your vehement personal comparison, Daschle did not 'forget' about the 128,000 dollar perk, against a $5 million income, his tax prepare did'nt consider it for whatever reason. When it became apparent by the IRS, he paid it. I'm personally glad that he withdrew but I fail to understand why or how this reflects on out president?

It is so amazingly refreshing to have a president who can speak intelligently, take responsibility for mistakes, and present possible solutions rooted in reality - admit imperfection and difficulty (none of the simplistic mission accomplished rhetoric that the right loves)! There is much work to be done - we are in a mess - I am glad this is the man Americans chose to attempt to do the job.
