  • I have been on Atkins for 2 weeks and I have lost 9 pounds, and I want to lose 50 more. Should I skip these for a while? By the way I love your daughters video. She has a great smile.

    Karrei

  • Just made these waffles today. They are wonderful!! Especially with the secret ingredient!! That really makes them taste great! Thanks, Tasha! Looking forward to more videos from you!!!!!

  • @wealthychickens She should be present in more videos soon. School, work, and planning for college has gotten in the way of many videos, but she should be back helping me before too long,

  • I made these waffles today and they were sooooo good. Even my non-low-carbinb husband liked them. I will definitely be making these again and may even use them for bread for a sandwich. However, I only got four full size waffles and one about 3/4 size out of the batter. I guess to get 6 servings from the recipe you would have to make them a little smaller than a full waffle. Thanks.

  • @lgpars Yeah the serving size is difficult to judge especially with belgian waffles. I end up making them a bit smaller only to prevent a waffle volcano and having the mess.

  • in case anyone else doesn't have a waffle maker, just like I don't, I use a mold (the ones used for pretentious nouvelle cuisine) in the middle of a dry pan and cook on low with a lid. you have to flip of course. Dont forget to spray cooking oil!!!!!

  • @deniceinspain Those are good tips... With as often as my daughters make waffles spending the $60 for this double waffle maker was worth it for us, but I agree if this is a one off there are cheaper ways.

  • Oh wow, I don't think I am even going to wait until tomorrow morning to make these waffles, I am going to have one for dinner tonight! lol...neat blog too btw

  • @The2005rwb Thank you! I hoped you liked them.

  • Nice waffle maker! I want one.

  • @topnotchjanitor The appliance or a wonderful daughter to make it for you? :-)

  • Ok great thank you!!!

  • Just wondering what E-IF means. Is this still safe to eat on induction?

  • @TheAshbrittany From the video description, "(E-IF) = Extended Induction Friendly"

This means that after the first 14 days of Induction, you can add 1-2 oz of nuts back into your diet, but still stay on Induction otherwise. This recipe using nut flours would fall under that category.

  • Tasha this looks extra yummy. I look forward to more of your videos. I see healty eating is a family affair :)

  • @DebriahPatterson I'll be sure to let her know she has another fan. :-) I think she has a seafood Italian dish planned for her next recipe.

  • Thanks for the recipe, I need to try this very soon...Mmmm.

  • Looks yummy...

  • @MISSINGROGERHOWARTH It is really hard to believe you are on a diet when you can eat waffles with butter and syrup on top.

  • everything looks fantastic, the only thing, I never owned a waffle maker,. back in the day, before low carb, it was always the frozen waffles...now that I am back to cooking, I might just get a waffle iron, and start making waffles, and surprise my family, Thanks Tasha for your entertaining video, :)

  • @Bonnie90505 Yep. it's always a joy to have her go in front of the camera. I don't think your family would know the difference between this one and regular homemade waffles. They'd think you had dropped your low carb lifestyle. :-)

  • I made these tonight for dinner and they were excellent. I don't say this about many things but you couldn't tell the difference between these and the "real thing".

  • @thecpukiller I am glad you like them. I have the batter prepared in my fridge for breakfast every day this week. At 2.5g net carbs per waffle, I feel like I am eating much higher.

  • There are two things Tasha does that make a difference for me. She showed us the end of the cooking process. While I like the finished photos of what it should look like at the end, I'm very interested to see just how the food looks coming out of the pot or oven.

Secondly, Tasha is easier on the eyes. :)

  • @TheWildHaggis For the first one, I think the difference between her making a video and when I do it is that I can't always guarantee my camera person is as motivated to stick around or stay up to see the finished product as I am. :-) I may have to start paying them for their camera duties to keep them motivated.

As for the second, I agree. I am glad she has her mother's looks in that regard.

  • Tasha is such a doll (I say that as a grandmother myself!) that I never miss her own videos. She's got her dad's touch in the kitchen, that's for sure!

  • @ChiaOwl Without flattering my own daughter too much, I agree. She's still learning in the kitchen, but she definitely has a more engaging personality than her dad. Can you tell I am proud of my kids? :-)

  • 0:44 epic fail pouring the almond flour, the microwave agrees

  • I need to get a super cool waffle maker like this!!

  • @mahirsch1978 It (mfg refurbished) was pretty cheap in comparison to others. I think it was only $50, which for Waring Pro I thought was a really good price.

  • Can I omit the coconut flour? Almond flour is just finely ground almonds right? Do the waffles freeze well? I don't have a food processor so I suppose I could mix it by hand. I think I need to get me a waffle maker now. I can really see how your daughter resembles and is infuenced by you. Good job!

  • @ckrtom2 You can use just 3/4 cup of almond flour (ground blanched almonds). I like the food processor for the ease, but if your cream cheese is sufficiently softened, you can do it by hand. I'll pass along your thoughts to her.

  • Great personality. Very chipper!

  • @gretchenbray Yeah, if only to be 17 almost 18 again...

  • New star rising on the carb recipe scene, your daughter is a natural!

  • @DesertCrochetBee Yeah, she already has a new idea for series of videos -- survival tips for the zombie apocalypse. She filmed the first one the other day. :-D

  • @Owltalons Must be the fountain of you that is Atkins. I hope you guys like it.

  • YUMMO!!

  • @justgranny45 Thanks!

  • Looks delicious.

  • @DietHobby Thanks and thanks for watching. :-)

  • She did a great job:) Looks great. Hubby is on the way to the store to get the ingredients to try it. He's still on Atkins & he has really been having a sweet tooth lately. Do you not need anything to replace the syrup?

  • @mrsmommy81 I used Walden Farms Sugar Free Blueberry syrup, but you could use either powdered Splenda with cinnamon or Strawberries in a simple splenda syrup too. If you look at the last photo of the three, that one had the syrup already added.

  • OM NOM NOM NOM! lol

  • @n10ding I used Walden Farms Sugar Free Syrup with mine, but there are a number of good brands. (Da Vinci is perhaps my favorite.) I posted a few of them in my low carb pancakes. You could definitely use whipped cream, powdered Splenda and Cinnamon, or even sliced strawberries in simple Splenda sauce.

  • @lennonchic I agree. She takes the coaching well, and loves being in front of the camera.

  • hey Bowulf daughter..kewl..Thanks for the receipe!

  • @askunique You are very welcome, and thanks for watching!

  • Love this..to date lost 55 pounds on Atkins..have some recipes on my site..always watch your videos..thank you...

  • @lmdelsanto1 Congrats on your success. Thanks for the headsup on your channel. I look forward to checking out your cupcake recipe.

  • Fantastic work, Tasha! Easy to follow, informative and entertaining. I hope you'll do more of these. The waffles look wonderful!

  • @sasto65 Oh she has another one in the planning already. One of her favorite restaurants is Olive Garden, so we are working on take off recipe featuring seafood. I definitely let her know your thoughts.
