@IIproductionsII Where I get my meat from they don't abuse them before killing them. They're given as good a life as they can be and a quicker painless death than they would otherwise. Plants may not have complex tissues and a nervous system, but they still "feel". Not only do they have only a touch sensitivity, but also a chemical one, not to mention their sensitivity to light and temperature variations. Wounds/stress/disease trigger defence mechanisms....

Instead they eat fruit (only fruit that has fallen from the tree, not picked by humans) nuts and seeds. I think most doctors don't recommend this diet, at least not for a prolonged period of time.

I don't eat like I'm having a fit. A lot of animals don't need a few of the things they eat. A chimp for example, doesn't need to eat meat, but it will. It's enrichment, it's a treat from their plant diet, it tastes good. And so did the chicken on my sandwich. I'm not for the slaughter of animals but living off an all plant diet is boring. That's why we eat meat in the variety that we do. Also, plants don't eat dead creatures.. they absorb the minerals from the decaying thing.

@beastie244 Let me give you a simplified version of the food chain: plants take in sunlight and nutrients, animals eat it, then bigger animals eat the animals that ate the plants, and so on and so forth until you get to the top carnivore. Then, animals shit out what they can't use or die and the nutrients are returned to the soil so the cycle starts again.
Obviously, animals, including ourselves, have to die for this to happen. If not, all life ends.

Plants get their food from the soil and the sun. herbivores eat them, carnivores eat herbivores, and it continues up the food chain. Animals on all rungs of the ladder that is the food chain die, and then they are decomposed by organisms and returned to the soil, which in turn gives the plants nutrients needed to grow. Talk about biology fail.

the arguments meat eaters make are generally: it tastes good, it's normal in our culture, and someone else would kill the animals anyways. At the start of the first video. he does say that being circumcised doesn't mean that you will definitely become a rapist (no shit), but he then goes on to explain why supporting circumcision is supporting rapists. It's a fine example of his 2+2=potato logic.

I don't eat like I'm having a fit. A lot of animals don't need a few of the things they eat. A chimp for example, doesn't need to eat meat, but it will. It's enrichment, it's a treat from their plant diet, it tastes good. And so did the chicken on my sandwich. I'm not for the slaughter of animals but living off an all plant diet is boring. That's why we eat meat in the variety that we do. Also, plants don't eat dead creatures.. they absorb the minerals from the decaying thing.

@beastie244 Let me give you a simplified version of the food chain: plants take in sunlight and nutrients, animals eat it, then bigger animals eat the animals that ate the plants, and so on and so forth until you get to the top carnivore. Then, animals shit out what they can't use or die and the nutrients are returned to the soil so the cycle starts again.
Obviously, animals, including ourselves, have to die for this to happen. If not, all life ends.

Plants get their food from the soil and the sun. herbivores eat them, carnivores eat herbivores, and it continues up the food chain. Animals on all rungs of the ladder that is the food chain die, and then they are decomposed by organisms and returned to the soil, which in turn gives the plants nutrients needed to grow. Talk about biology fail.

No, animals are set up to be eaten, they aren't accidentally killed. The point is because animals are SET UP TO DIE and they get in to plants, then you're eating part of the SET UP TO BE KILLED ANIMAL, NOT RANDOM DEAD BODY THAT HAPPENS TO GET INVOLVED.

the arguments meat eaters make are generally: it tastes good, it's normal in our culture, and someone else would kill the animals anyways. They are weak arguments that are easy to prove wrong, but usually they are not going to admit that they are wrong, and even if they do, it's unlikely that they will change their ways. There's really not much of a point in arguing with them.

For me it's like, if I can't value the poor helpless animals life, I don't think I can truly value my own life... and then the highest rated comment in this video is "I would never go against veggies because you just have a different taste" wtf, how can this be seen as just "a different taste"?? bah.

I don't want to agree with him because I eat meat and all, but I also try not to lie when I can. All of his points in like 99.9% of his videos are extremely valid. I see no reason to bash him because you can't agree with him.

@tamppi777 me too... well I guess it's not THAT bad since the animal didn't die, but still... the milking cows are kept in absolutely miserable conditions so it's really bad too... and a cow could live for like 20 years I think but milking cows only live about 4 years due to the inhumane conditions they're kept in, so yeah... plus, lots of products that we use at home are tested in animals, so you might want to research about that too =P
