I thought this was a pretty good demonstration. Remember the guy is doing you a favour, essentially so you can get an idea of what pedals you might like so you don't have to get off your fat arses and try them all. We're here to listen to the different sounds of each pedal, not criticize people because they aren't burning up the fretboard with various musical styles. Grow up!
OKAY!!!!!!!! People; why are we fighting over which is better. Fender and Gibson are the top two most famous guitar company; Gibson for the Les Paul and S.G; Fender for the Stratocastor or Tele. I prefer Gibson over Fender. But they are both remarkable company's. I own a Strat, but still like Gibson better than Fender. Okay oh I also like Ibanez.
i love how people compare fender and gibson , why do it , its like comparing apples and oranges , both are great same as many other guitar companys , and for those who slag off strats then i suppose , hendrix , stevie ray vaughn , rory gallagher , clapton malmsteen and all the other guys have got it wrong and should have listened to you tube users lol
@gorillazhead You act like you know the guy. I really don't know why the fuck you would get offended just because this guys sucks and everybody's pointing it out. Quit acting like a queer, nobody likes faggots.
@donedeal3133 - I dare you to tell that to Eric Clapton, Jeff Beck, The Edge, David Gilmour, John Frusciante, Pete Townsend, and the late greats Stevie Ray Vaughn and Jimi Hendrix.
@FlankinspanK Even Garry Shutt from Expertvillage uses an ibanez flanger. Whether clean or distorted, Ibanez is no doubt one of the top flangers out there.
@Runelaier I'd check both out myself and see which one is better. I like the Black Label chorus better because I'm a fan of the chorus tone that it gives off. Plus I think it's analog.
Not a great pedal, I've had it for years. I do have a Red Witch Empress on the way now though. Always good to have a combination of digital and analog pedals to fill your needs.
@jonwill500 Check out 'blondegreamey', or something like that, don't know how to spell it, he does a lot of great demos and he sometimes takes requests.
@Fruscification A gibson, for the same price as a strat will smoke it. I payed 1400 dollars for my 06' SG and I have a friend who owns a top of the line $1600 deluxe strat, and he is damn jealous of my SG which plays like a dream.
there's no point of arguing about it...it's just about what you like...single coil or humbuckers...I like single coil pickups better than the humbucekrs...

@LakicGuitar I respect fender as a company, but the workmanship is no where near the same. If you get the Schaller locking tuners the tuners are all right, but 99% of artists including myself that I know, play a stock Gibson, and maybe change the tuners out. On a fender, pickups are changed, tuners are changed, and locking tuners are usually installed. When i said gibson deluxe in my last comment i mean gibson, and I actually l was comparing my Gibby SG to a Fender Deluxe. The Gibby Wins.
This is one of the best chorus pedals to me. It sounds subtle with clean tones and it really shines with overdriven tones, it makes things fuller and warmer. I reccomend it if you like '80s rock tones.
I play mostly metal.. I typically want a metallica sounding distortion pedal, and a chorus pedal mainly for clean stuff, as i love playing clean+chorus it just sounds awesome... anyone have suggestions for me?
you can try the rocktron rampage distortion, u can get nice metallica and thrash tones in general, and for the chorus this one is great because its versatile, it goes since a clean modern chorus from a vintage deep sound...i have a ce5 too and it's easy to get metallica clean tones also, like the intro of one
yes, for me the metalcore sounds better too, the only thing that it lacks is the midrange eq settings, it should be great with these controls as the metal zone hve...but i agree with you, i had a MT2 and tried the ML recently, both are great pedals but the metacore sounds more organic and it's easier to get good sounds
funny how everyone always tries to make fun of this guy because he plays the same chords and scales in all his videos. Its because he is showing you the difference the pedal makes. But i guess when parents let their kids use the computer they will type anything to try and put down someone else.
whats better the ce-1 or this pedal. i have the super chorus and i dont really even use it. just cuz i dont think it doesnt sound that good. but i could really hear all of the details in this pedal. i personally really like this one but what better this or ce-1 chorus ensemble.

that would be a reverb or analog/digital delay reverb gives you that kind of cave sound like your playing in a big room with nothing in it and the delay gives you echo i would recommend the boss dd6 or mxr carbon copy anlog delay for delay and for reverb i dont really know maybe the electro harmonix holy grail thats my opinion but check out other delay pedals you might prefer other types

Why can't he play something like in a real application...say Jeff Healey's "that's what they say".....his playing sucks...he's a computer geek...take my advice...stick to the computer....nerd.
yep, from what i can understand, he played at the summer namm show but he forgot to bring his chorus pedal so he went to the boss booth (assuming it is a boss, im not sure) and asked to borrow one, all well and good except then it happened again. after this he got an email from one of the company executive saying theyd had complaints from the booth staff that he asked to borrow their pedlas, that he should bring his own from now on and they wont lend him one anymore
so he was pissed off because bassicly he was playing their pedal for free at precisely the sort of event where people come to see what gear their favourite artists are using, after this he bumped into one of the company executives who said hed lookinto it and get back to him, but he never did. so then jeff got whiteout and in a fit of anger, painted over the name of the chorus
this way better than the super chorus in my opinion, i was gonna get the super chorus but then i used this and bought it asap but thats just my preferance, i prefer the warm sound that this gives
The difference between the CE and CH pedals is that, without writing a novel, the CE's usually sound better for chords / rhythm playing, and the CH sounds better for single notes / leads. Though, this is all subjective, and I have used both pedals for both with good results.
If you set it in a right way, it does. You just have to find the sound you're searching for (It might take you a bit of time). For Nirvana songs it would be better a EH Small Clone with a Boss DS-2
if you're looking for a review, it may be a good idea to ask WHY you should or should not get a product.
FWIW, I said neither because there are better products that can do the chorus thing better than this boss product can or the ce-20. I didn't like their sound. But, it's still up to you in the end right.
Chorus is always a good choice, think of the into to "Come as you are by Nirvana"...its the classic chorus sound.
I like my CE-5, its an analog model and I sometimes play with the effect level turned down all the way...really alters your tone in a trippy way-Ive been told it gives a Joy Division sound.
ALSO...I will plug out of the stereo(2nd) output only which gives a VERY COOL AND ODD SOUND.
me, i like using it for clean shit, like picking around chords or playing some open chords to get a kinda subtle watery shimmery sound. also like with some delay for like a jazzy soloist type sound. not for leads with distortion though
basically it takes ur signal and doubles it. thats why its called a chorus, because its like a chorus singing, theres a doubled signal. it gives u this watery sound
nice sound

The difference between the CE and CH pedals is that, without writing a novel, the CE's usually sound better for chords / rhythm playing, and the CH sounds better for single notes / leads. Though, this is all subjective, and I have used both pedals for both with good results.

Can the CH give you something similar to a Rickenbacker sound? Thanks

I know this is a late question, but is the CH older than the CE ?

if u put distortion with chorus does it sound like nirvana ?
Log1wo 3 years ago 2
If you set it in a right way, it does. You just have to find the sound you're searching for (It might take you a bit of time). For Nirvana songs it would be better a EH Small Clone with a Boss DS-2
Ercarnar 3 years ago 2
the combination chorus/distortion sounds like eddie van halen

He played three chords used in Eruption at 2.09

you got a straight answer, didn't you?
if you're looking for a review, it may be a good idea to ask WHY you should or should not get a product.
FWIW, I said neither because there are better products that can do the chorus thing better than this boss product can or the ce-20. I didn't like their sound. But, it's still up to you in the end right.
peace.

what are some better products than the ce-20 and the ch-1 for chorus. i am lost when it comes to all this pedal electrical stuff

analogman chorus is good, a sleeper would be the arion sch-1 but it is more of a vibe.
you should try out as much as you can.

I'd rather go for a small clone. Much less fiddly

So i use a boss MT-2 atm.. and I play mostly punk/grunge... would this be good as a back up for chorus's and solos?
xxTaylor6661 3 years ago
it sounds better then the thatn the super chorus imo
HercNastyz999 3 years ago
what do you use chorus for?
SaintNate1 3 years ago
me, i like using it for clean shit, like picking around chords or playing some open chords to get a kinda subtle watery shimmery sound. also like with some delay for like a jazzy soloist type sound. not for leads with distortion though
skimtildeath32 3 years ago
to b honest i no alot about guitars but i never quite got wat a chorus pedal does i mean i hear a tiny difference but idk
metulfuuk 3 years ago
basically it takes ur signal and doubles it. thats why its called a chorus, because its like a chorus singing, theres a doubled signal. it gives u this watery sound
skimtildeath32 3 years ago
so does it really make that big of a difference or is it something worth getting? or what are the main pedal effects you'd want?
