First off, you need to tell some kind of story visually. There has to be a "point" in what is shown visually. Second, make the cuts line up with the beat of the song. Third, once in a while, show visuals that relate to the lyrics, but don't make it excessive. For example, when the singer says "bodies hit the floor", show bodies hitting the floor. Lastly, don't show a certain shot for more than 4 seconds. Most shots or cuts should be 2 seconds. watch any music video... THE most important thing
