seriously? has Roger caught up nadal ? i thought he was quiet far behind ..but AWESOME! i hope he wins !! i want him to reclaim his Wimbledon back and his no1 back . ive always said if his service game is good, he will beat nadal all the time. All the time he has lost to nadal was because of bad service game and simply nerves . Of course NADAL is an aggressive player and the left hander causes roger problems but in madrid this year roger played everything right to beat nadal.

Yes just checked it on a site, nadal loses 2000 points, to 10.735, if fed wins he has over 11.000 points.

You're absolutely right, he needs to serve well. He often lost matches to nadal because on the important games his first serve was off, or made unforced errors. But you can see most of the times he's the better player in their matches.

And yes that match in Madrid was a turning point, he played very agressive, great forehands and amazing dropshots.

Did Laver have an opponent equivalent to Federer's Nadal? No. If we consider Federer without Nadal, Federer would have already won 18 or 19 grand slams. Apart from the lack of such a rival, Laver did not have to face the competitiveness of the current Tennis tour. If we imagine Federer without Nadal, he would be as dominant as Laver was in his time, winning the past 3 or 4 roland garros (in 2005, Nadal actually beat federer in the semifinal, then in the finals for 3 consecutive years).

bullshit, laver played 3/4 tournaments on grass, back then the competitiveness of tennis was shit, and seeing it was only amateur tennis back then on occasions he had to play as little as 3 matches to win a grandslam, you have no arguement
