for me a good metaphor that fits both the issues of cheating with the lower back, and the elbows too far forward thing is to VISUALIZE LIFTING BUCKETS FULL OF WATER so that they won't spill. To do this you have to concentrate on the upward movement only therefore isolating the biceps.
