  • 5:01 says "PORNO"?

  • my first lock pick was made from a dining spoon. and i used that on my father's motorcycle to go to school.

  • ist das ein mini-usb massenspeicher?

  • the guy with the cigarette looked lke the half-life of the party!

  • cheater! you used a vibrating lickpick

  • that was funny at 2:21 yoohoo!!!!!!!!!!

  • Whats the name of the song playing at about 6:45? By the way, great video =)

  • "Joy Kitikonti - Dirtysummer". i think it's the "Dirty Kiss" remix.

  • That pick at 2:14 looks like HPC.

  • HPC? we call it a "snake", simply...

  • LOL yes a snake ha haha.

  • Awesome! Lockpicking is really fun, if you got the tools, I like the lockpick gun, because it is much more effective on many locks than like if you use the rake or diamond manually. And where you making your own wrench? Looks quite cool!

  • yeah, i used to make some picks myself. there's a tutorial on my flickr from about two years ago on how to make them using racing bike spokes. the link to my photostream is on my youtube channel page.

  • Who are these people ....a bunch of thieves?

  • nope, sportsmen. seriously. this is considered an official sport, and one of the rules say: "i do not pick a lock if i do not have the permission to do so by the owner of that lock".

  • what is that thing in 7:51 called?

  • the ending

  • Simply funny XD

  • that was killer but i live in fucking america unfortunatly

  • looks like a fun party i want to go.

  • wow whats that gun thingy called. i want it

  • just 'electric lock pick' or 'lock pick gun', i think...

  • give my right arm for that cutaway,,=]

  • besides that guy showing off his raking skills and then trying to single pick that cutaway lock for like 20 min that was sick and i want to have a party like that!

  • @bboyblackjack12 no man, you dont understand ... you have to be part of the scene to understand, he has a pick gun and cutaway so he is like bishop or something.

  • cool lock

  • cool lock

  • hey, you forgot to try hairpins, though! ;-)

no really - they work awesomely well on tiny locks. the steel especially makes an excellent tension wrench with small diameter while still being durable - perfect for tiny locks.

yeah, it's "bio(logy) nerd" - one of my mates calls me like that, as im into medicine and kinda... weird stuff involving creatures, big time. but, to be exact, i'd have to call myself "natural sciences, technics, and computer nerd" - but yeah, that nick is far too long. *g*

  • I was also going to say hairpins, which I do use, except bobbypins & hairpins are basically the same thing to me. In Canada the 2 words refer to the same thing, unless something more specific is meant. But you're right; they work well on tiny locks. Sometimes a bit too well; I wrecked a Master 120D, trying to pick it w/ a hairpin. I popped out the retainer rivet & the plug slid out along w/ most of the pins, etc. Took me a bit to find all the pieces & I doubt I'll ever get it reassembled.

  • P.S. I'm really surprised that I was able to tell what your nickname is about in just one guess. I think yours is the first YouTube name that I've ever asked about after trying to figure it out for myself first. Well, I suppose it wasn't *that* hard; I'm just really proud of myself right now. :)

  • thanks for clearing that up (about bobbypins and hairpins) - sorry, english is not my native language. :-P

hehe, yeah - once you disassemble a lock, its really hard to reassemble - but, if you do it on purpose and in the right way - it works ok. erm, there's a video about that somewhere on my hdd, i just cant find it right now... maybe you've seen it already anyway? its a single guy talking, and video quality isnt very good.

  • and oh yeah, congrats about your guess -> my nickname *backslaps*. :-P

  • Well, for not having English als eine Muttersprache, you write it pretty fluently. I once sort of reassembled a cheap, no-name combo. lock. It didn't work very well afterward but I got all the pieces back in. I also correctly got a couple keypins back into a IC lock one time; they accidently slid out. It still works fine. I haven't seen the video you mentioned but it sounds like something it could be interesting. Feel free to respond auf Deutsch; I always need the practice.

  • ill look for the video when i have time - might be on an external hard drive after all, oh well. btw, i think we should continue our conversation in private messages... and, if you want, auf deutsch. ;-)

  • Well, you can't really hijack a messageboard for your own video, can you?, so I don't think private messages are all that necessary. Plus, as a rule, I just don't do them; I never have yet, anyway. By all means, though, if you want to get a laugh out of reading some of my not-so-great German, just send me something to respond to. Just out of curiousity, is English your 2nd language? It's my 1st & German is actually my 3rd but my French sucks ass, so I kind of think of German as my 2nd.

  • well, true - but just swapping to german now would be sort of rude, though, i dunno - in case somebody is interested in the topic (we've been talking about locks so far, anyway), they probably wont understand the rest of the conversation because it's in german - i'd find that annoying. also, the character limit for comments is kind of annoying. ;-)

  • but anyway, english is my second language, yeah - i dont speak any other languages but english and german. i had french at school but couldnt be bothered with it, as i dont see a reason to learn it - most people speak english, anyway. also, i dont like the sound of french at all - it sounds awkward to me.

  • if anything, i'd want learn a logical language, as im offended by languages being so illogic. why would i write "I" in capital letters, whats the point? why do i have to point out that i am female by saying ICH BIN EINE PROGRAMMIERERIN? useless. at least english doesnt have the "acticles" such as DER, DIE, DAS or LE and LA, so english is a little better than german and french. :-P

  • I could go on & on about how much I like English b/c of the built-in simplicity of its grammar compared to many other natural languages. But I won't. I'll just say I particularly like how, with English, you can more quickly focus on acquiring vocabulary instead of struggling with tiny, absurd grammatical inconsistencies. e.g. you can spend yrs. learing German & still not know 1000's of definite articles & the cases for specific prepositions.

  • In English there are almost no cases & you can learn all the definite/indef. articles in seconds so you can instantly start learning all the wonderful nouns/adjectives/etc. that go with them. Imo, that fact alone makes Eng. a MUCH more fun & easy lang. to learn & use than German/French or any other Indo-European lang. It bugs me that many ESL ppl complain about Eng. grammar as being too hard but it's just b/c they haven't studied it enough or tried to learn truly hard langs. like Basque/Arabic.

  • yeah, just as i said - english is better than german or french, but still, its not a perfect language in my opinion, either.

err, and to be honest... i have no idea about grammer. did you learn english as a child by learning the language's grammar first? i bet you didnt. well, it's same for me with german AND english - i learned german as a child without knowing the grammar, and i learned english as a teenager - on the internet, and without knowing the grammar, either.

  • later in my life, i learned to actually SPEAK english by traveling around the UK for a couple of months. i wasnt too good with english at school - essays were fine, but i got worst marks for grammar tests, as i never bothered to learn grammar. :-P

  • I didn't mean to imply English is perfect; it certainly isn't, but it's fundamentally a LOT easier to learn as a 2nd/3rd/ language than most other natural langs., grammatically. That's all I meant. It just seems like virtually every other natural lang. is really plagued with unnecessary & annoying complications of grammar/pronunciation/tone/alphabet, etc. that prevent learners from just immersing themselves in the content words of the lang.; the fun stuff.

  • But to answer your question: No, I didn't learn English grammar first. I learned it by listening & being immersed in it, then I struggled horribly with French for yrs., pretty much gave up on it & then took to German like a bird to water but it made me go back & more carefully look at Eng. again & I realized how much simpler basic Eng. grammar is than basic German or French. In fact, I've yet to find another language whose superficial grammar is as easy as English's & I've looked for years.

  • *Finally* a decent view inside a pin-tumbler lock as it's being picked! I've been looking for such a long time for a video like this. Where does one get such amazing cutaways and how much are they, if you don't mind my asking? By the way, the device you were thinking of is called a Newton's Cradle. Thank You so much for posting!!

  • NEWTON'S CRADLE! that was it, yeah! thanks a lot, ill write it down this time, lol. :-)

i dont know exactly HOW he got that lock, but they're made by the manufacturers of the locks as i heard... us "ordinairy" people are not allowed to have those though, obviously - the company doesnt want everybody to know how their lock looks on the inside... well, he keeps quiet about where he got it, so i cant tell you, sorry... maybe on ebay or a flea market, who knows?

  • Well, thanks anyway. It's so hard for hobbyist lockpickers like myself to get professional tools, models, etc. because I live in Canada. And the laws here are just really strict and draconian about what people can buy, own and use as far as security is concerned. Many times I have wished that I lived in Germany or Holland instead.

  • hmmm, that sucks big time indeed. :-(

i'd really try ebay, then... if the seller ships globally, you have a good chance of receiving your stuff. or... move to berlin, it's a wonderful city! :-D

mind you, no hunting or shooting about, though - if you're into that. afaik guns are legal like in the USA in canada? aint like that in germany... :-P

  • Yeah, even though Holland may be a bit more lenient than Germany as far as lockpicking is concerned, I'd probably still rather live in Germany b/c I can actually speak a fair bit of German. Anyway, it's much easier for me than Dutch even though the languages are so similar. Canada has much stricter and better- enforced laws for firearms than the US, afaik, but guns can be legally owned & used here. Makes no diff. to me, though. Maybe I'll have to try ebay for picks, etc.

  • yeah, i was wondering about your nickname, like, if you are of german descent or something. :-P

you can easily make your own picks though, so i'd do that instead of buying them on ebay... scavenger's brushes (spring steel) work really well if you file them properly. just wrap them up in mcdonald's spoons, using a bit of duct tape - done! :-)

alternatively, you can get the spring steel from car's window wipers... or just use those "knife edge" bike's spokes, though they are harder to process.

  • I've never heard of scavenger's brushes or anything to do w/ McDonald's spoons & duct tape, but I'm used to doing A LOT of filing to make my picks, wrenches, etc. so maybe it's something to look into. I've heard of using wiper inserts b4 but not bike spokes. I mostly use bobby pins, cut keys, the odd paperclip & small, steel rulers - like you'd use in a math class. Quite a few diff. locks can be opened w/ such simple materials, a lot of patience & some ingenuity. So, is it "bio"logy nerd 23?

  • eh, i think i just posted a new comment instead of a reply. i'd better go to bed. oh well, im sure you'll find it. :-P

  • on 1:07 what the hell does that hand machine?

  • it pushes (fires...) down the pins all at once, with force; pins inside a lock consist of an upper and a lower part (you can see that on the other lock). forcefully pushing them into place will work like the (i can't remember what it's called - there are five balls, hung up next to each other... and when you hit the other balls with one, the force is transmitted to the last ball, all the way through the others, and the last ball will bounce away).

  • it works just like that inside the lock, too, with the pins staying in place due to the force of the tension wrench.

(man, i hate 500 chars limit for comments)

  • shocking how theres actually a lockpicking convention
