  • Stupid fucking Idiot!

    Fuck your Lobby!

STOP THE WAR ON DRUGS, NOW!

  • well i think we have much bigger problems in this world than drug prohibition.

what about stop taking drugs and concentrate on real problems like starvation, war and oppression?

taking drugs only keeps you away from such problems and even helps the leaders to keep oppressing the people.

no gods. no states. no servants.

  • @6ch6ris6 Yes, sure there are more important issues than this one. But it's still a problem and should be addressed even though it's not as serious as some others. Abusing drugs will surely keep you away from thinking about such things but that's besides the point!

The thing is that you can NOT stop people from messing with their minds, it has always been done, in every civilization. And the real problem is that people think they can stop everyone from doing drugs by making it illegal.

  • i dont get it,he got an answer

  • this is just too fckn stupid, how the fck do these people get to such high places, ignorant little fcker, sittin there and thinking he's the man. fck, this needs to be fixed. somebody better think up a plan how to gather up everybody whos in behalf of legalizing and start a fckn REVOLUTION!!!

  • So,we need to unite:All open minded people who understand how system is corrupt and make suffering all around the globe. It's was so shocking when slaughter start in Rwanda 1994 and UN refuse to sent "peace" troops to protect civilians. How sick they are. I always think how "Half Life 2" game start and think that this Orwellian super state is possible. We,simple people must stop this. Save weapons.

  • After all you can clearly recognize that Costa work with instructions given to them. "Security" man who come is clear prof that most of "big heads" in UN,EU and many agencies all around globe run by sociopath and psychopathic people very intelligent, without any compaction. This is not free debate, this is dictation ship and the matter of time is when they start by real oppression.

  • Marijuana is mind expending thing when you use, with a small power when you put in same line with shaman ''drugs''. I put " " because you are not in state like with laboratory drugs, marijuana expand seeing reality on different ways and you better NOT use if doing to be "cool". Anyway,Costa sucks like hell. Ignorant&corrupted biological zombie.

  • "we want to solve the world drug problem" ???? ok, get rid of the CIA, offer safe pure alternatives to life threatening drugs. Admit that humans beings are designed to alter or consciousness, its a birth right. Get rid of poisnoius tobacoo cartels. Create institutions that help people in the responsible use of psychedelics and help heal the collective soul/mind. Slowly dismantel nationalism, destroy all weapons of war and create a sustainable clean H2o future for all.

  • Does somebody know what the song from the opening is?

  • Yes it is "world at war" by Anima Sound System

    HCLU

  • Why can't ppl just accept the fact that softdrugs legislation isn't something to be afraid of? Coffeeshops pay their taxes, another income for the government! Less harddrugs available/handrange, less harddug users! No more dealers in the streets, less criminality!

Ever knew that it isn't allowed to smoke tabac in a coffeeshop anymore? european smoking regulations...:s

  • I agree, but throwing a policy around does generate some problems. If drug use is already high in a country, say the US, and you start allowing cannabis to be sold at shops people won't just stop using. These are things Mr. Antonio-Maria should be addressing, instead of just ignoring the question!

Plus, the smoking regulations for shops are logical. And mostly ignored :P

  • man, i wish i knew

  • It's dogmatic drug war bureaucrats like Costa that cause much more harm than drugs ever could. How does this man sleep at night...

  • He probably needs a lot of sleeping pills. Sad people like him think that pharmaceutical drugs are good and natural drugs are bad... yet natural drugs like Cannabis are bad only for the pharmaceutical industry, because they can't gain much profit out of it. Same as the WHO thinks and acts.

  • whats gonna happen? get kicked off for spamming?

  • Agreed.

Ban Ki-Moon should fire this old fascist goon and let someone with common sense and the ability to listen to science make drug policy.

He's a habitual liar especially as he makes the claim that increased availability increases demand.

Of course the man is a stooge of the lobbyists (especially from the US) whose industries would suffer from cannabis legalization. Boohoo.

No one can tell you what you can put in your own body.

  • Fredrick Polak for UNODC Executive Director post — a sane man instead of the reactionary, authoritarian and idiotic puppet —

    Antonio Maria Costa.

  • Mario Costa did not answer the question about the fact of lower drug use with decriminalization.

We need a global movement to put people like this out of power.

    No More Fascism

  • Tss...Costa...

    ...ridiculous paid puppet!

  • I understand appreciate the question and information. But it's important to put everything on the table here. Costa doesn't answer the question directly but does address the question by saying he agrees with the approach of the mayor of Amsterdam.

is there evidence that what he said is true or untrue. And is there evidence that this trend suggests a trend in the approach in the rest of Holland.

  • The point is Costa is mistaking the Mayor of Amsterdam for the Mayor of Maastricht. The mayor of Maastricht actually supports legalisation over the tolerance approach which doesn't deal with the problem of illegal drugs markets, he just doesn't want drugs tourism in his city. Coffee shops have been closed down in Amsterdam but there are still loads of them this doesn't suggest they feel the experiment is failing- rather they don't want them near schools...

  • So Costa is totally misinformed? He's talking about the wrong city? That's pretty sad and doesn't give him much credibility.

  • Costa is scum. An ignorant old puppet with no understanding of society or human behaviour. Trust the UN to appoint an economist as their drug czar. How about some scientists?

  • Dethrone Costa NOW! Bow and Respect for Polak.

  • Comment removed

  • Why can't we just re-legalize cannabis already?

  • Mario Costa GO FUCK YOURSELF . .|.

  • Mario Costa looks really ignorant about the issue, or he's just playing stupid. One of both. Period

  • if cannabis was legal in all of europe there would be no!! problems at all.

  • Ty,ty for this!

Im really glad that this battle continues.

That costa is a liar who shoulndt be allowed to have that job..How hard is it to answer that question?

  • Ever credit to you Mr Polak for asking such a simple question and for having the tenacity to expect a simple answer. Mr Costa obviously has no answer or justification for his organisations stance on Cannabis. He just made himself out to be an arrogant shouty little man with a pure Teflon suit on

Keep fighting this kind of utter shite.

  • Also, there have NEVER been 2600 coffeeshops in Holland, only 600 nationwide, and now there are only 550, so Costa got that 'wrong'.

  • Also Mario Costa states something very ridiculous, namely that the Mayor of Amsterdam, moved coffeeshops out of the center of town and toward... the Dutch borders?

No mayor has any such authority. His remit ends at the city's boundaries. He can't impose coffeeshops on different towns or provinces (for his information, Amsterdam does not extend to the eastern border).

And the mayor of the real Maastricht is pushing for complete decriminalisation.

  • why do liars get a round of applause?

  • Because some people seem to be ignorant shit who still blindly believe in that old ass propaganda that brainwashed even me... until recently.

  • welcome!

  • Why thank you.

  • thank you for this

  • I wonder why there is fewer coffee shops selling cannabis in the Netherlands...BECAUSE THERE IS LESS DEMAND! It's simple economics!

  • Nope, not that simple.. A christian party is ruling now, making more strict policies against coffeeshops - only creating more problems. Demand stays da same, but less locations to suply. The other (not-closed) coffeeshops get more custumers to handle, but have a max limit weed storage. When 10 times more cars are stopping by to buy some weed, neighbours get sick of it, and will complain - making the next coffeeshop getting closed. Numbers of drugdealers on street are rising right now..

  • Today and tomorrow, there is a conference going on in The Hague, to put cannabis 'on trial'. They want to go for complete legalisation, not just decriminalisation.

    cannabistribunaal /nl

  • Legalize. Do it, DO IT NAOUGHW! It's a wonder plant. There's no reason for it to be illegal.

  • Legalize It!

  • good song =P

  • It's sad how the government has to take away our only pleasure in this satanic society that they created. Smh..

  • there is no rational reason for weed to be illegal.

in america is was first illegalized in the 1800's to discriminate against and deport mexican laborers. i feel now it's largely illegal because the drug companies simply wouldn't be able to compete.

  • watch?v=Q1Mi-xhfCZ0

  • Yup, what's the song?

  • ok thx :)

  • whats the name of song in the end?

  • Anima Sound System - The World at War

  • Weed heals and like they sayed its food to our soul as bread is food to our body.

    Fredrick Polack is hero.

Now keep green and be cool. Nature rules.

  • Nice to have a glimpse of the facade called democracy..

    Just "Shut up and swollow"..

    PERIOD!!!!

Still a long way to go..

    Growing for Peace.

    Respect, Green Ambassador

  • Taze him, i like it with violence and screams.

  • this make me so mad, hes a fucking dickhole go die Costa please die, leave this earth you piece of scum

  • The guy of the Netherlands, love him.

I self live in Belgium and i go every week too the netherlands to buy my weed, I hope they never close the shops smokers don't harm people

  • I have never felt this way about a man before but I am in love with Fredrick Polack! What a hero!

  • that guy is just a by product of big Gov. god i love the guy from Netherlands, is right on point

  • Excellent.... he doesnt have a clue how to reply. Why fight logic when you cant even justify your own madness !!!

  • fucking blind slave...

  • Who the hell are they to tell me as an adult what to do as long as i don't hurt anyone by my actions? Will they ever understand what's going on?

Doctors can tell you that it's a medicine, still they are hiding the truth of the people and tell them it's a drug.

The only thing they reach with prohibition is to strengthen illegal powers managing cultivation and distribution. The prohibition of a plant is one of the biggest jokes of the 20th century.

People like Dr. Polak have my biggest respect..

  • Fuck it, us tokers dont have any need to defend cannabis as a medicine. Using any drug as a recreational drug with no medicinal benefit is great reason enough. As long as it is used like alcohol, keep it for the weekends and not for every weekend.

  • Luckily people like Costa are dying away most of the time. Don't worry..

  • For me, only the Genius of Philip K. Dick gets close to approx. how the U.N looks to me, with a rep. who snakes away from a question like that:

"That Can-D," he said to miss Jurgens, "Is great stuff, and no wonder its banned, Its like religion; Can-D is the religion of the colonists." He chuckled. - Philip K. Dick. The Three Stigmata of Palmer Eldritch. Pg 24.

  • But he that doeth wrong shall receive for the wrong which he hath done: and there is no respect of persons.

    Peace

  • costa, he should clean his mouth with soap!

everytime, everywhere, lobbying for the wrong aims. for money, not for the people. it's disgusting.

i'm waiting for the time when we will work with facts and proofed knowledge, not with fear, hate, rejection and money signs in our eyes.

it is like the witch hunt in the middle age of europe, but today we aren't witches, we are drug users!

  • Is he not telling truth or not knowing truth about the facts? I'm not sure what is preverable...

  • AMEN..Protect our personal freedoms!

  • god..stop beatin around the bush you fucking idiot. it is sad to see the enormous stupiditiy of the people who govern us.:(

mr. polak is sooooooooo right. and hes tellin the truth unlike most of these stupid....enough for now

  • That is absurd. Answer the fucking question, you are payed to!!!

  • ! thats the word man! agreed!

  • Gotta hate the European Union..

  • They better liberate cannabis or get out of the fucking way, cause cannabis is here to stay.

Its all about cannabis and it allways wil be!!

    peace up Encod..

  • haha Costa thinks France neighbours the Netherlands. Nice!

  • But if Costa agrees it would be a commercialy good idea to move some coffeeshops from Amsterdam to the French border :)

Besides that it's quite sad that this dumb man plays such an important role in our drug policy.

  • So, he doesn't want to answer a question, and like any other apparatchik in that situation, he just blathers on for several minutes, and hopes that nobody notices that he didn't answer the question.

  • Taze him, i like it with violence and screams.

  • I expected the security guy to take out his tazer any moment...

  • "We are not a debating society, we are here to solve the world's problems. Period."

Uhmm.....last time I checked..democracy was all about healthily debating issues to come to an understanding between parties...This sounds like NWO bullshit..

  • I agree. This is a key sentence from Costa. It sounds like "we are here not to discuss what works in the field, but to pursue an ideological agenda."

  • I have a feeling that the agenda isn't really ideological. It's got to do with greed and need for power. There's big money involved in drug prohibition. Just thought I'd point this out.

  • Huge money! Freaking huge sums of money in drug prohibition. No joke there.

  • "we are not a debating society". you got that right, ye un nazi puffter.

  • that's pretty funny, when he said that and the way he reacted I thought of a nazi as well

  • no hes not lying or anything he cant even look the other guy in the eye properly

  • Freedom of Choice

  • I want to be able to buy cannabis in a regular, legal shop in Germany, too, damn it! Why won't our government accept that I can do with my body and my mind whatever I bloody like?

  • I want to be able to buy cannabis in a regular, legal shop in Germany, too, damn it! Why won't our government accept that I can do with my body and my mind whatever I bloody like?

  • tja da wird wohl jemand von der pharmaindustrie richtig gut bestochen. mehr kann ich dazu nicht sagen. doch l3g4l1z3

  • The prohibition is the financial backbone of organized crime, illegal weapon trade and terrorism.

  • LEGALIZE !

  • Perhaps the worst thing about this discussion is that the people applauded -.-

  • absolutely!

  • LEGALIZE!

It's the only way to protect our society from the use of drugs. Prohibition is nothing but a big lie - They don't want us to expand our consciousness!

  • what a incompetent fool

  • you are funny guy

  • this is supposed to be a scandal, but nobody in that room seemed to matter... its disgusting

  • if this was a certain university in the US, the man would've been led off and tased in the gonads.

  • Just looking at this man staring down from his high horse, I gotta say, the look in his eyes as he denies the question is priceless. Too bad our government is starting to believe the crap coming out of mouths like that. Like marijuana magic mushrooms could be bought in smartshops and some coffeeshops, not for long though.. Step 1 on Holland's -war on drugs-

  • Why wouldn't he answer the question?

The security Gaurd should have hauled him from the podium and kicked him out.

  • How long are we going to listen to these liars tell people that having 14-16 year old people selling drugs is a good idea?

Anybody who sees this can easily see that the only thing he is interested in is keeping his high-paying, do-nothing job.

Nobody in this entire room sees the problem with having kids sell drugs before they are able to even buy alcohol?

It's no wonder NL have less marijuana users since they ID users and kids are not the ones selling the drugs on the street.

  • Other than more tax money, less crime and less marijuana users what is his problem with the way NL handles cannabis?

Considering legalization of cannabis did in a short time what this person has been trying to accomplish what is his problem?

This person was hired to lessen the impact of cannabis use and he is doing the complete oposite. How do he keep his job?

Other than this man losing his job if cannabis were equalized like in the NL what is his problem with equalization?

  • COSTAS + PROHOBITION = LIE

  • i emailed him

    cannabis being illegal is insulting.

  • I emailed him too and i think anyone who cares about the drug problems in their country should too. It was such a simple question yet he completely strayed off topic. How is NL a failed experiment if it has less users of cannabis than other european countries? At least in the NL there is age restrictions over here in the UK heroin is available for 5year olds!! This video is great and something everyone should see as it affects all of us.

  • I sometimes add that I'm not a ganja user to remove the "oh your just a pothead" type remark.

And I take the step back and look at this as a freedom of choice being removed from those of whom wish to use marijuana. It isn't wholly about marijuana itself. In other words it is insulting to me, to a high degree... then in you factor that it does not harm society! --and then add in the friggen medical value we are missing.

  • His eyes are closed or even staring down at his desk for his entire response, this guy knows hes so full of sh!t he cant even stand to look at the man that he is trying to sidestep. A complete coward.

  • what he said..just made no sense

  • How much longer will Europe be behind on it's drug policy. The Netherlands is one of our smallest countries, yet it's had the bravest approach to it's citizens. They've believed they know themselves. After all I know arsenics bad for me so I don't eat it, as for weed....

  • I sent off an email to Antonio-Maria Costa asking the same question Frederick Polak presented.

  • so this is why milions of people are in prison. period

  • Costa is a slimy puppet of the US, what else did you expect? rationality? yeah right!

  • Is he a Spanish citizen? Marijuana and hash is smoked freely in the south of Spain. That is my experience, so if he is from Spain he should realize that drug prohibition does not work.

  • Costa is from Italy.

but even so he absolutely should have realized what's going on anyway. that's why he cannot come up with a reply.

  • Well made video, but I question whether this is anything new - haven't politicians and civil servants always done this? When the answer is hard just don't give it - speak on a tangential line in the hope of drawing attention away from the original question. Just listen to interviews on the News and in politics programmes.

  • TangYingKai: I think it's very important to make decision making transparent and show how decision makers deny reality. Democracy is not made by politicans but by people who are aware of their rights and ready to fight for them.

  • Unbelievable. This just exposes the sham that is the UN position on drugs. Prohibition is a lie, it cannot withstand any serious investigation.

Costa should go, and go now. Full stop.

  • Unbelievable. This just exposes the sham that is the UN position on drugs. Prohibition is a lie, it cannot withstand any serious investigation.

Costa should go, and go now. Full stop.

  • a true shame.

how many times should the Executive Director be asked the same question before we can get a real answer? (if an answer can be given in the first place.)

i think the best we can do is call more attention to the argument and hope that Dr Polak continues to do so, too.
