  • I LOVE THIS SONG SOOO MUCH! I am 19 and wasn't even born when this song came out but it sends chills down my spine every time I listen to it like I'm being touched by the holy spirit through the words of this song. I just thank God that such gifted and talented people are able to minister to youth of this fallen generation through beautiful music like this. I pray music of this generation and the following generations turn back to this! Amen!

  • This song gets me through everyday.....

  • this was sang to me as a baby from my dad.thanks for the memory

  • HALLELUJAH! This song makes me want to go into worship mode, Im greatful my parents raised me up around great gospel artist allll of my LIFE! Thanks Mom and Dad and Jesus for using them the way you did

  • LOVE THIS SONG. NEEDED IT TODAY. I CRIED OUT TO THE LORD TOO.

  • Listen to that harmony; those voices. i'm not a huge gospel singer but i will listen to these brothers everyday. this is music. gospel or not it's music.

  • Why am I just finding out Commissioned was the original and NOT 112? I love them both tho. Wow. I can't believe I'm so late on this!

  • THE BEST MALE GROUP OF ALL-TIME!!! U CAN NAME ANY GROUP, THEY GOT THEIR INFLUENCE FROM COMMISSIONED!!! BRIAN MCKNIGHT, BOYZ TO MEN, MEN OF STANDARD, ---U NAME IT---//WHAT MAKES THEM SO AWESOME IS THE FACT THAT THEY DON'T HAVE THE GREATEST SINGERS OF ALL TIME...BUT THEY HAVE THE "GREATEST CLUSTER CORD HARMONIES & VERY WELL PRODUCED & ARRANGED GROUP THERE IS. THESE GUYS WERE WELL B4 THEIR TIME.

  • OMG I thought 112 did the thang on this song..

I LOVE IT BY BOTH GROUPS..

  • nobody can touch this version some songs shouldn't be remade and commissioned is hard to follow!!! love these guys

  • ILOVE THIS SONG THIS A FAMILY CHURCHSONG FOR MY FAMILY

  • I remember when I was a little girl and my dad would always listen to Commissioned when he took me to daycare.......I miss and cherish those memories:) Love you Daddy.....

  • THE MEMORIES I HAVE OF THIS SONG THERE AREN'T EVEN WORDS FOR!!

My Sister & I sang this song at my cousin's funeral.... NOT a dry eye in the place...

Commissioned ALWAYS had a way with their lyrics... like they were speaking either DIRECTLY TO YOU or somehow were SPEAKING FOR YOU!!! GOD BLESSED, AWESOMELY TALENTED GROUP!!

  • Judge ye not and ye shall not be judged we as christians all fall short of the glory of God yes even the one in ministry it's just another oppurtunity for Jesus to show the love and compassion he has for us his children but to continue in sin is total separation from God so what I say to u when u know your sister or brother has a weakness pray for their streight in Jesus and help stand them up and set them in the right direction and allow Jesus to heal them

  • nossa cara recentemente eu to virando fã do fred hammond ele é muito bom noq faz naum é pastor corrupto q fica roubando dinheiro povo ele faz isso pq adora deus e consegue demonstra isso muito bein nas musicas dele

  • I absolutely love this song and so many of the Commissioned songs because of the beautiful melodies in all of their songs. This song was made when I was a little one but even going back and listening to it I can relate to it as if I was of age to recognize it when it came out.

  • I was on my way back from my mission trip back in 88. I was so sad to leave the wonderful people of Pohnpei, Micronesia. I cried and cried as I traveled back. I remember hearing this song on my way back. It really got me through that hard time.

  • Ive been wanting to hear the original for weeks! Thnx for this.

  • thanks for the post it's just whats needed

  • This song has been a blessing to me!!!!!.....thanks for posting

  • This song is helping me soo much!

  • Yes Lord!

  • This song is a true blessing for The Lord Himself. It has pulled me through SO much in my life, and it's so true!! Cry out to The Lord, and He will be right there. I'm crying now (tears of joy) just thinking about His goodness & mercy!!

  • I LOVE 112 but I had to share the ORIGINAL from 1986 by Commissioned. This song has gotten me through some rough spots. I hope it helps any of you dealing with hardships or loss. "Weeping may endure for a night but joy comes in the morning." (Psalms 30:5)

  • i DONT CARE WHAT ANYONE SAYS NO MALE GOSPLE GROUP SOUNDS BETTER THEN COMMISSIONED!!!! THE ARE THE GREATEST!!!

  • Big Marv Winans was a beast; Commissioned came in the Winans shadow. Thanks to Andre Crouch and Quincy Jones.

  • This song still help's me get through trouble times.

  • all of youre words are so powerfull all you guys

    bless you guys

  • @Ashween070 Give Jesus a chance...you said yourself that the song was powerful...Commissioned was compassionate when recording this song, compassionate about Jesus.

  • @MillyMusic08 i am not going to give jesus a chance because of this song or you say so.every man woman child has to find truth and justice of its own and not to be forced to believe in something just somebody says so that you believe is your own path of truth and justice and i respect that but it doesnt have to be in particulary be mine .

  • @MillyMusic08 i believe in a higher power some call it this some call it that but nobody really nobody knows who is god and who is jesus really .. its only what you know from a book. and what you or people make of it ... i truly believe it can bring you joy and take away the emptyness its the same feeling you have that a muslim of buddhist has of its religion there is no difference in that

  • @MillyMusic08 im sorry if i may come over harsh i truly respect all of you people who listen and leave a comment because i know youre hearts are at the right place bless you ............

  • i dont believe in jesus but this song is powerfull and strong

and i really feel the lyrics in myself

for some its buddha jesus allah who knows 4 sure who is the real god

i think of an higher power if i think of god

    great song truly

  • @Ashween070 Listen Ashween070 God has always been there and Jesus has always been there He came and died for all of us. let me tell you when Jesus rose from the dead. He showed himself to his disdiples but Thomas doubted and said he had to touch his holes in his hand and the holes in his feet. And Jesus told Thomas you believe because you have seen but blessed are those who believe who have not seen. I don't know you but I pray you give Jesus a chane because he truly loves you.

  • @godschildgail1 ty ... i respect your opinion and i love him too but not only him i love also krishna i love buddha i love jesus i love allah .... its what people made god

they gave it a name like you give it a name...the things you believe is from a book that was made 2000 years ago and over the years constantly changed by the church other facts to the story of jesus are you fimiliar with that ..?

  • @godschildgail1 ......so how can you know what happened exactly 2000 years ago where you there with them ??? how can you know that is was real ..... if there were offensive things in the bible written by some disciples THEY SIMPLY ERASED IT FROM HISTORY therefore "the dead sea scrolls" who claims other facts to the story of jesus

  • Im going through a tough time right now. When I think of it seems like i've been going through a tough time for years. Dispite the pain I still believe in the diety of Christ and the promise of his return. So for now I'll just Cry on. Thankx Big7

  • @kennyedwards69 Lifting you up in prayer right now Bro....

  • So Beautiful...Truly.

  • Maturing into young adulthood back in the 70's, in a Pentecostal Church atmosphere.........I had the distinct pleasure & priviledge of enjoying the vocal talents of MANY "inspired" individuals & groups. Listening to Commisioned's performance of "Cry On" takes me RIGHT BACK TO CHURCH! If I'm not mistaken, that is the intent of ALL Gospel music.......to remind the world of the very simple fact that God is GOOD, and worthy of praise at ALL times, by EVERYONE! Bless his name!

  • @aliquippawill Thank you Jesus, Praise God.....I feel kindred to all who had kind words to say here.....I also grew up in a Pentecostal church and for me it was a power experience that still sustains me to this day

  • This is the 1st song that I ever heard by them back in the day so of course it's my favorite, thanks for these posts! Miss those cats! I've posted an acapella of my own in Homage' of there awesomeness on SulaziTV , please let me know what you think!!!

  • Thank you Jesus!

  • I love Commissioned.. Sing Mitchell!!

  • So Soothing. The best praise and worship song. Great for spending time only with the Lord.

  • like everyone else, this album takes mebk, inspires me,makes me shed a tearor 2. workout now 2 this album along w/several more inspirational songs just 2 get awy from rap & the norm.

  • Spring of 1987, I was 11 years old and we just found out my grandmother was diagnosed with bone cancer. Everything got bad. The Lord saved my whole family from a fire that came in the middle of the night and coulda took us out. I heard the Lord call my name while sleeping to see the fire in time. This song really got our family through. I've followed Commissioned for years, saw them in concert 5 times. This album is bitter sweet to me though. But it has memories. These were the real cats.

  • @Hazakim GOD BLESS YOU!

  • @Hazakim God Bless You...God is GOOD! ALWAYS!

  • @Hazakim

    Listen.

I absolutely LOVED your comments. As you said, you would be sat down quickly! I still live like that today, and I thank God that the Church of God in Chicago still holds to the old way, which is the good way. I grew up on holiness, and still live by it. Preachers have told the saints to not judge. Well, I invite you to NOT JUST READ, BUT STUDY, 1st Corinthians, chapter 5. WE ARE TO JUDGE! Love your words!

Gospel Music should represent the GOSPEL, not seek man's awards!

  • @Hazakim Itz been a long time, but i read ure blog and it touched me so to read it. i know life goes on but the memories?? Thank you so much:)

  • @Hazakim

Wow.. so God saved your grandmother? She's still alive?

  • such a beautiful testimony thank you for sharing it

  • This song helped me get through Basic Infantry Training in the Army at Ft. Benning, GA . Commissioned is still a rare breed in gospel music. For the most part they lived what they sang about. Most of the members grew up in strict Holiness Churchs that would sit you down in a minute if your lifestyle did not measure up to scripture. These "New Jack" gospel singers today (you know who they are) are working on the third and fourth marriages and still up singing. God Help them!

  • Amen! Tell it!

  • @NtheNow Brother i totally agree with you i grew up Pentacostal which is really strict but im glad i grew up in it now it kept me out of a lot trouble

  • amen me to

  • i love this song

  • Commissioned was the TRUTH, man!! These songs bring back sooooo many fond memories! My parents used to buy me whatever album I wanted because I was really into music when I was a kid. I HAD EVERY SINGLE COMMISSIONED ALBUM!

It's funny how you can hear music and be instantly taken back to a time in the past. I'm sitting here remembering all my elementary school teachers and growing up singing in church. All the young boys who would sing solos would sing Commissioned songs! LOL I love this!

  • I grew up on these songs

  • Thank you God. How I really needed to hear this today.

  • Silk and 112 both did covers of this song and did Commissioned proud, but the original is still by far the best. Commissioned Forever!

  • I sing this song to my son, I grew up on Commissioned

  • This is one of the tapes I took to boot camp. Still love it!

  • Wow, I grew up on getting by on this one. Learned to play this song on the keyboard when I was on "punishment" and couldn't do anything else but stay in the room. Fred and them have been a tremendous blessing to my life since forever ago!

  • I remember this song too. I saw them in concert in Memphis at the COGIC Convocation during this time. I told Mitch how much I loved this song. He always pointed towards God and not to himself. They were so anointed!

  • AW CRAP! Was that really 22 years ago? I'm getting old, man.

  • This is beautiful music, without a doubt.

    Easy

  • I grew up listening to this too. I do miss the songs of old. My goodness, Fred is so young.

  • I know what you mean- great group

  • i have been blessed to hear this song i just got saved. and i see a new way to live iwas getting weak until i heard this song so i cried and now i can go on . forgive the spelling i"m working on that to god bless to all

  • Hang in there friend, because just like the song says, weeping may endure for a night, but joy comes in the morning. I have to tell myself that, because I've been saved for a long time, but I still go through things that make me want to give up. But giving up is the easy thing to do. That's why prayer is so important. God's Word says cast all your cares upon Him, for He careth for you. Stay on the path, and I'm praying for you....

  • Wonderful performance.

  • I love it! I am going to have to check this group out. Jamar you have the best music ever!

  • Hehe I grew up listening to this stuff! God was sowing seeds in me back then that I forgot all about. You know this is Fred Hammond's group right? Thats him over in the left. They have some of the best harmonies.

  • No I didnt know that. I just bought the Rance Allen project featuring Fred Hammond. You must hear that cd it will bless you brother.

  • Ill check that one out for sure.

  • Very well done. I feel the soul wooo!

  • Thank You God for allowing me to stumble across this song because i definitely needed to hear it

  • this

  • I sing to to my son all of the time

  • ...even if you have to moan....

  • One of my fav. song they sing. . . Awesome!!!

  • I praise God for finding this song for me and for the person who uploaded this. This song is so inspirational to me.

  • Used to make me cry for real!

  • Who Among Us have not played this Song time and time again and Believed God for our Joy to come in the Morning time?

    I know I have.

  • the question is is by the winnans boo

  • Could you please post "How Can We Sing" and "The Question Is"? Those are my favorites!
