I am 19 and wasn't even born when this song came out but it sends chills down my spine every time I listen to it like I'm being touched by the holy spirit through the words of this song. I absolutely love this song and so many of the Commissioned songs because of the beautiful melodies in all of their songs. This song was made when I was a little one but even going back and listening to it I can relate to it as if I was of age to recognize it when it came out.
I was on my way back from my mission trip back in 88. I was so sad to leave the wonderful people of Pohnpei, Micronesia. I cried and cried as I traveled back. I remember hearing this song on my way back. It really got me through that hard time.
This song is a true blessing for The Lord Himself. It has pulled me through SO much in my life, and it's so true!! Cry out to The Lord, and He will be right there. I'm crying now (tears of joy) just thinking about His goodness & mercy!!

Listening to Commisioned's performance of "Cry On" takes me RIGHT BACK TO CHURCH! Spring of 1987, I was 11 years old and we just found out my grandmother was diagnosed with bone cancer. Everything got bad. The Lord saved my whole family from a fire that came in the middle of the night and coulda took us out. I heard the Lord call my name while sleeping to see the fire in time. This song really got our family through. I've followed Commissioned for years, saw them in concert 5 times. This album is bitter sweet to me though. But it has memories. These were the real cats.

This song helped me get through Basic Infantry Training in the Army at Ft. Benning, GA . Commissioned is still a rare breed in gospel music. For the most part they lived what they sang about. Most of the members grew up in strict Holiness Churchs that would sit you down in a minute if your lifestyle did not measure up to scripture. These "New Jack" gospel singers today (you know who they are) are working on the third and fourth marriages and still up singing. God Help them!
