Not bad tips but you forget to say that Poker is a gambling game. If you have no luck then you will lose doesnt matter if you have the right way of thinking or not, doesnt matter if you are intelligent or not etc. But in a long term better players will be more successful. Thats true. Nevertheless I cant see where the hell the skill aspect is in Poker. If you make really money with that stupid game be happy. But money isnt important to live a good life. At least not in West-Europe.

This is true. I recently started playing with real money (small stakes though). At first, I didn't think I would do anything than to just play the game and beat the other guys. That resulted in a winning streak. Then I got greedy - and ever since I have been going up and down.

I really respect chiren and what he does, but it would be really nice if he could give some poker training videos concerning players who already know basic stuff, what I mean is that, hearing stuff like you have to start playing play money tables, add more tables and understand how full house work is just not cool. Give us some real stuff! :)

I thought a buy-in is when you pay to enter a tournament, hence "buy into" or "buy to get in".

So I don't know how he can say he "made more than 1000 buy in", like is that grammatically correct?

A buy in for a cash table is typically 100 big blinds, i.e. $2nl is 1c/2c small blind/ big blind, 2c big blind x 100 = $2. When Chiren says 1000 buy ins, he means 1000 x $2nl(if playing $2 buy in) = $2000.

hey, i'm a huge fan, but you are just wrong... if i had an infinite amount of money, i would play poker to make money. however, i do not and i don't. the truth of the matter is many people do not have enough money to afford the downside swing even if they are a "winning" player. even if poker is easy, even if you are a winning player, it does not guarantee you to have the capabilities to handle a downswing, without that guarantee, you might as well play the lottery.

that is why there are different stakes and you start low and work your way up until your bankroll is large enough to take hits (lost buyins, etc) from variance. Proper bankroll management allows for downswings

Seems like it would be really easy to write a program that guarantees long term profit in hold 'em. All you'd have to do is calculate the probability of winning at any given point, then if the probability drops too low, just fold. The program would take in your hand + the flop, river, etc. and just spit out the probabilities. Of course, I haven't done the calculations myself, but seems like it would make an interesting side project.
