Jealousy is a curse huh combcard you fat little leprechuan.Giger has been pushing the boundaries of innovation since before you was an itch in your daddy's wart covered scrotum. So what the hell would you know about the genius of his work?!I would like to see examples of your artwork posted here on youtube to be assesed on any so-called merits it might have. I would'nt be surprised if your own style consisted of the "painting by numbers" method.
giger isn't very interesting at all, i used to like him a lot, but now i feel that as an artist he is terribly backward, sure it looks kinda cool but that's it
do you really think that giger is the most innovative artist on the planet? he's basically following in the renaissance tradition, which is about 600 years old. Marcel Duchamp, off the top of my head
no I dont htink so duchamp is more of a surrealist maybe compare him to dali but not giger. Im not saying he is the most innovative but what other visualization is to dark demeneted yet not just show
duchamp was only briefly associated with surrealism, but as an artist stands out on his own, he doesnt fit comfortably into any movement. i personally would think that dali and giger are quite similar. they both try to portray the unconscious workings of their minds using renaissance traditions of perspective and proportion which i feel is hugely exhausted
from the psychi perscetive I agree dali and giger are similar. Are true it is hard to sime up someone like duchamp in one medium, no great artists can be. No one has taken airbrushing to his level. Thats speaks for itself clearly not a renaissance style.
the technique may be different but the goal is the same, giger wants his pictures to look as real as possible, i think he should try some abstract work
stop having sex with yur mother. and read something wierd called gigers bio, he kinda mentions something called inspirations, like.... edward munch, dali, picasso..

I agree. Giger's work is actually very much in the style of the classic modernist approach. Picasso did this kind of nightmarish, physcologically explorative art first. So I'd say Giger was a bit backwards, considering he was still riffing on some of the earliest modernist ideals at a time when art was well beyond that with abstract expressionism, pop art, photorealism etc. but he does stand out for his symmetrical, grisaille paintings of perverse subjects. mediocre overall, but not bad.
Larry, you label gigers art as..."Silly" & "medicore" and I say to that uneducated opinion by saying "FUCK YOU!" I say that with heart felt compassion to. Giger is modern day wizard and alchemist at bringing together occult elements to tap into the darkest reaches of the human psyche to evoke fear of the unknown. You ,on the other hand, would'nt know what high art was if it crawled up your ass and exploded. Go dribble your festering shit elsewhere larry.

Giger's art (as well as his countless imitators) looks awfully silly. You just see this kinda stuff everywhere: tattooes, SciFi Channel monster crap, video games, Anime, album covers. Giger is a rather mediocre artist who one day happened to fall in with a talented young film director named Ridley Scott. Since then, Giger has been ripped off and/or worked on terrible films like Species,PoltergeistII.
It's an opinion that I respect: About the talented Ridley Scott, I just remember that he made some great movies, but also some really awful, like the "italian part" of Hannibal Lecter, just to mention one bad movie.
I have already answered, but something has gone wrong. Anyway, all the music of my videos is original. I compose it on a Mac, the images suggest the music. Pura Vida

No kidding! Even the greats have their low points (Hannibal, Matchstick Men). Now, I wish he'd get off his ass and make the 'Alien' prequel already!
