im looking at the 9mm xd subcompact with the factory installed light. It looks really sweet. Im just debating weather to get the sub or the reg xd. what are your thoughts on that?

Its a tough one. If you plan on carrying it every day concealed then the sub would be best. If for home use the the full size would be good.
