If Jeff Berlin was playing bass with these guys, he would play shit that would blow your mind, .. even with the simple chord changes. Of course his musical knowlege and technic is a million light years ahead of Huckabees and most other bass players. Plus he knows how to "sound good".

Chris Wood is a member of the avant garde jazz trio Medeski, Martin, & Wood. One of my favorite groups. The Troutman's basslines are used all over the hip-hop world along with the signature talk box. And I meant to say Victor Wooten who tours with Bela Fleck & the Flecktones and also toured this year as SMV with Stanley Clark and Marcus Miller (Regi is his older guitar genius brother). All incredible electric bassist. Only Wood regularly plays acoustic upright that I'm aware of.

Exactly. You're either inclined to play bass, or you're inclined to play guitar. Usually, guitarists who dabble with the bass play rather rudimental lines because they don't understand that the bass is a part of the rhythm section, not the lead, and needs to be locked in with the drums. That said, Capitol Offense is a funny name for Huckabee's band. It sounds like an '80s thrash metal song. Now I want to hear Huckabee play "Devil's Island" by Megadeth - that would be tremendous.
