Not the best audio, but given the year, it's not bad at all. This band and Santana got me through Viet Nam. And, Unlike Janis Joplin of the same area and time, Lydia's still singing, not to mention breathing... ;-)
Cold Blood's first two albums got me through 'Nam. I think I had a crush on Lydia Pense. I thought she out Janised Janis. I'm sorry the sound isn't up to snuff on this cut, but the point is made. This was one very significant R&B band. And they are still cooking!
Saw her back in the day (70s) in Harvard Square, small venue...a hot liitle girl with a big voice! Blew me outa the chair. So much Soul in this girl, hope to see her again as I know she still tours. Thanks Lydia!
@louiseduvee Got to see them on the Central Coast at our local college gym back in my college days. This video brings back wonderful vibes and memories of how good they were ... even amazing ... as they really got to the soul of those of us who had the good fortune of "being there". She's an amazing performer yesterday and today ... Peace!
I can't believe so many post speak in past tense. I’m going to see Cold Blood this weekend and I can only say It Will Be one good time. Lydia and her crew has NEVER been anything but a Power House.
Long Live Cold Blood and Thank You Guys.
Should Cold Blood come anywhere near you, don’t miss them.
Just love Lydia and Cold blood... one of the best bands i ever heard... what a powerful.. voice this women had.. so much soul... the horns were Fab.... the band was great thanks for sharing...KBel120...miss thoes days good times back in S. F.... CALIF.. you put a smile on my face today,, bless you peace and love....miss the Fillmore....
Great post, tyvm! "You Got Me Hummin'" was actually one of many hits for Sam and Dave, the great Stax records duo. Meanwhile, "I wish I could feel..." has been covered by many singers, ranging from the late Mary Travers (Peter Paul and Mary) in the sixties to the Derek Trucks Band recently.
Sandy McKee!!! Crazy drummin'. Saw this band live in Portland OR 1970.....and Lydia.....you made the house feel so good!!!! I was playing at a decent club in Portland in 1972. Went to a Denny's about 2am and there was Cold Blood and most of Tower hanging out. I got stage fright!!!!!!
"you got me hummin" is a cover of a song by the hassles (billy joel was in the hassles) a 60's psychadelic rock group. it was their only "hit" and was 116th on the charts
@cougarcatgirl shes really from redwood city ca my sister used to go out with her brother ralph a very long time ago shes great the band also i grew up in the glory days im thankful for all the concerts i went to made me who i am today music saved my life and it was great back than wow what a era have a graet day

I still get chills when I listen to Lydia sing. So much power & soul packed into that voice. She was and still is the real deal.
The band & crew played some good games of baseball at Red Hill School, too. Life was more fun back then.
