The Volt has under a 10 gallon tank. Also Europe's gallon in 1.2 US gallons. So your car assuming it has a 15 gallon tank does about 40 MPG which the Volt can match. The difference is the Volt can go ~ 40 miles with no gas at all which your diesel can't.
been from mississippi to florida and then to mobile on one tank of gas in 97 camry...lol those 4 cylinders can go...and go.. ur praying and it surprises you..lol
I happen to own a 6 year old civic hybrid, and and far as we can tell the battery is as good as new. Also, GM has a pretty robust warranty in effect for the batteries of the volt, just as Honda and Toyota do with their lesser hybrids today.
Who the fuck want's an electric car? I know i sure as hell don't, they have non power, and to replace that battery, which will have to be don in 3 years, will coast more than the cars worth at that time..
I'm a little confused...once in charge sustaining mode (after the battery is used up initially), is the engine/generator running to make electricity to directly power the electric drive motor or is all of the engine generator electricity being made going only directly into the battery to sustain its charge and the electric motor is fueled from the battery only?
@MrEnergyCzar the generator puts charge into the batteries and the batteries always supply the motor, they never run completely flat. and to reply to deltaboy, clearly you have no idea how capable electric motors are, instant torque and no power band like a petrol engine, watch a drag race between a lotus elise and the tesla roadster, same car made in the same factory the Tesla always wins in a drag race.
i like how the gas engine is called a generator...

over 300 miles !? WTF ? My 4.9L V8 will get 350 miles on a full tank for $70
UFCextra 1 year ago
@UFCextra
The Volt has a 9.5 gallon tank that would cost half the price of you 4.9L V8 to fill. And the first ~40 miles wouldn't use any gas at all.

Extremely Quiet? What do yo expect? Battery Noise? lol
btw, that's the Largest Shifter in the History.
Center LCD is DEAD? After 4 mins of seeing "VOLT" I'm tired.
I love the Hybrid though.
