They told me that russian army don't make you strong and mature but make you mental invalid. Many rich russians pay bride to avoid service.

This type of treatment does NOT make good soldiers. This training makes men passive. Remember the training that the Spartans had was harsh but they were allowed to fight back. Here the recruit learns that the way to survive is to take more punishment and be passive. It is no wonder that the Russians did so poorly against a much smaller Georgian Army. Basically the Georgians ran out of bullets.

You have conscription where many if not most do not want to be in the Army, so you need a system that is brutal that will make them scared not to comply. This being said, there is no need for such brutality, you might spend more time training, Russian soldiers are dogged but are not as skilled as Western counterparts fact

And by Global standards you are not THAT well trained, just like the Americans you rely on numbers and therefore suffer huge casualty rates. @theBastardus I think the difference is, that in our countries the people who serve are volunteer so will do what they are told and want to learn to fight, kill and survive. You have conscription where many if not most do not want to be in the Army, so you need a system that is brutal that will make them scared not to comply. This being said, there is no need for such brutality, you might spend more time training, Russian soldiers are dogged but are not as skilled as Western counterparts fact

And by Global standards you are not THAT well trained, just like the Americans you rely on numbers and therefore suffer huge casualty rates. You lost 15,000 in Chechnya, in Iraq America had 4,300 killed, by comparison Britain lost on 176 men even though we fought in the same areas as the Americans.

No, your way of thinking is childish. A soldier is meant to fight, and toughening them up like this makes them more efficient. If a recruit isn't punished for doing wrong, then he can do the same thing wrong in the field, which could cost him his life or the life of his comrades.
