Me, Naz, Viet4life and other guild members use to hunt down the Chinese and it was very satisfying to defeat them, and particularly if they dropped an item off the body.
That made it good. Sadly it has no instructions pretty much in Mir2 and grinding is log and tedious. I just joined after quitting in 2006 and it is very slow, and boring to lvl up, but there's something special about the sounds and game play of my first online game. PVP is actually very good in here, and bosses were competitive. Some nights on Mir2 were so exciting with guild battles for bosses that wow doesn't compare.
Having played WOW after Mir 2, yes wow has much better graphics, is easier to play and has plenty of quests, but it lacks in some way that I can not explain. The community of Mir2 is very much close knit, and you get to know each person, good or bad.

Mir 2 was my first mmorpg and to this day king of all mmorpg's... there will never be another quite the same :( but then i think one of the best things was the economy, before they had to release mir 3 and completely killed it... I Miss legend of mir, i did try and play it for a while after they released mir 3 but it just wasnt the same, got invaded by Korean bots and everyone was just Hacking all the best items... and gemming them up way past what should be possible.. sucks so bad
This was my first MMORPG back 10 years ago. I remember I had a level 33 Warrior with some really epic equipment! Shame the grind was painful back then, I think it's a lot easier now with cash items and events.
Dude you forgot Dragon Raja, that game is older than mir2 and still better for my taste(less choppy, faster action and the PvP system is epic, the job system is also very nice).
DR was created based on the fantasy novel Dragon Raja in 1999 already and if memory serves the first english official server came to be somewhere around 2000.
English DR died completely for a while but they're launching a new official server soon, if you can try it out and give it a review aswell

Wrong, the ame sucks, simply because of the lag between where you click, and when your character decides to turn in that direction, I find that to be ANNOYING. No company in the MMO market, that I know of, polishes their games aesthetically, because the MMO community is balls, everyone wants to "pwn noobs" , and "rape nubs"....it's ridiculous, play Phantasy Star Universe, or Monster Hunter.

If you left click in a direction you walk only one space. To run you have to hold down the right mouse button and drag it away from your character.
You say you've played Nox. The movement control is almost exactly like Nox in that regard.

The game was extremely popular in Europe in the early 2000's, having its own tv show in gamenetwork tv channel.
When it closed in Europe, Gamepot then took over it with american based servers
