  • Lisa Ono

Lisa Ono (小野リサ, Ono Risa) is a popular Japanese bossa nova singer. She was born in São Paulo, Brazil in 1962 but moved with her family to Tokyo at the age of 10. From that time on she spent half of every year in Japan, and half in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil. She became a type of MPB (Brazil Popular Music) ambassador in Japan. Besides singing, Lisa Ono plays the guitar and is a songwriter. Her first album, Catupiry, was released in 1989.

    FONTE: wiki

  • Wiki is a not a reliable source. Lisa Ono is actually a Brazilian singer, not Japanese, she's of Japanese extraction, though, but she was born and raised in Brazil for most of her childhood. Her parents were also born and raised in Brazil.

  • Wikipedia is not a primary source. It IS a reliable compendium and each page is as good as the sources given.

Lisa's official Japanese website gives the same basic information. I think we can ALL agree - she is great!

  • I'm just saying. She's as Japanese as Kristi Yamaguchi, if you get what I mean.

  • @Marllon

I do and I agree. Like the person who commented that she has "almost perfect" Portuguese". That cracked me up. But, I think she actually IS more bi-cultural than Yamaguchi. That was my point.

  • I don't see that comment. Her Portuguese is perfect, it's her first language.

You have to keep in mind that she migrated Japan from Brazil at the age of ten, and form thereon, she spent half of each year in Brazil and the other in Japan. You don't know that Brazil has the largest nikkei population in the world, right?

  • @Marllon

Right, that comment was from a different video. No I didn't know that about the nikkei. Thanks for telling me.

  • Wow, there were so many typos in my previous comment, but yeah, she migrated to Japan from Brazil at the age of ten, and that's why she's more bi-cultural.

Yeah, the largest nikkei population in the world is in Brazil, and the second is in the U.S.

  • I don't know which I like more: Lisa's voice or the flute player's vibes. Great song!

  • Hi, Lisa! Your voice is really cool. I'm a Brasilian. Do you speak Portuguese? Please add me on YouTube, OK? I want to know more about your work. Tks!

  • she is from São Paulo.

  • Real nice. I also like the combo very much.

  • Thanks; Lisa Ono, always nice.
