I don't care for Mrs. Dole, but it's disturbing that the Dems would run an ad criticizing her for not "fixing" immigration. The GOP has that whole isolationism thing handled just fine. No need for Democrats to take up the cause.

I know from personal experience that legislators voted that low on effectiveness surveys DO NOT get things done. Why? It is other legislators and insiders who vote on "effectiveness," and if they count you ineffective, that means they will not do anything for you.  "You scratch my back, and I'll scratch yours," doesn't work if nobody's willing to work with you.
