That's sick, those poor snakes all cooped up in sawdust and plastic containers, your a sick man, I used to collect them but at least they had real dirt and real plants in the cage, who are you Rip van Winkle?
The best feelings I ever got as a snake collector was the catch and the release, but the release always outweighed the catch. As far as using money as a motivation, that's the same mentality that leaves whales with bent fins in the aquarium. Snakes stress out just as much as you would if you were imprisoned, if you were aware you would understand that those snakes fill a percentage of those plastic tubs, similar to that of me locking you inside a very small room about the size of a car, GREED!
@mack1time Well said. A snake born in captivity will only ever know captivity and realising it would be crule. And realeasing a ball pyton or summin like that in the Uk wouldn't be very smart. But when I build my racks I will build em allot wider. But nice vid!!!!!!!!!
@sculptureattack those tubs are great for the snakes. the plastic holds humidity and temperature very well. the fact that it's not crystal clear helps reduce stress, because if they could see all the movement outside the cage they would stress out. granted, some snakes need bigger tubs than those that are provided. but people that breed take very good care of their snakes, because a healthy snake produces healthy babies. don't be so quick to judge.
@mack1time anytime. people just don't do research before they start arguing about things. i mean, i'm a member of peta...but i also make sure i know about something before i start claiming things like animal cruelty. keep up the good work, man.
depends on the tank size. The bigger the tank the more the bulb has to warm. I have a 75W in my 40gallon breeder and it gets the basking spot to about 93 degrees Fahrenheit
im getting a baby corn snake in a 10 gallon glass aquarium and a zoomed under tank heater, i was wondering how i keep the temp at 85-90 on the hot side and 70-75 on the cool side without it getting to hot or to cold??? someone please help!
and someone told me i need a heat lamp(75 watt) and a UTH, help
fuck the haters. glad you got em all in the same room, looks good, man. hah $3000 a year on the animals including everything for them, i feel you, i'm the same way, almost all ov my money goes into them. their awesome.
never really tallied in the cost of electricity or rent, but approximatly 1800$ a year in just feeding alone, then tally in caging, rent , substrate and bulbs and its prob pretty close to your guesstimate for the bare necessities. Don't forget vet bills, decorations and misc items.
So this is the room that ends the dates eh...well what a bunch of pansy girls...I'd love it and think it could be improved only by adding more cages! Stacks of Boaphiles or AP cages...**big grin**...and of course...more snakes!
I swear I actually go to sleep at night thinking of how to build a wooden shelf/rack for tubs and making cages for my snakes. Not EVERY night...that'd be crazy but definitely a couple of times a month. I dream of a snake room like Jeff Ronne's someday. Have you seen his "Black Hole"?
Yes I have seen salmonboas stuff, very impressive. I too dream of racks but more so who I am going to pair up for the season. Ah many sleepless nights.... lol
hey thanks. I am adding 5 more snakes in a couple months !!! I cant wait. Please if you like what you see suscribe to my channel. Your support would be greatly appreciated!

@sculptureattack
It's actually Aspen substrate and it's the most practical to use when you have a large collection.
My snakes thrive here. they eat, breed and reproduce here so I must be doing something right?

@sculptureattack
that is like any pet really tho.
A dog takes a percentage of the yard, a hamster percentage of it's cage and a fish a percentage of it's bowl.
These animals come from South America and release is not only not an option it is illegal.
To each their own and I understand where you are coming from.
