@danderm1 This gets radio play today on a local station where I live and work. My knob's been ripped off so it stays locked in on KZQX, 100.3 FM Kilgore. Tune in via the web at kzqx(dot)com
Frank Skinner tells a story about his beloved West Bromwich Albion F.C when, long before English clubs competed in Europe almost every week, the Baggies hosted a friendly against a team from Eastern Europe, possibly Dinamo Bucharest from Romania.Unfortunately as the teams lined up the DJ at The Hawthorns was okay when playing "God Save The Queen" but struggled to find a copy of the Romanian national anthem so instead opted for this track.Imagine the sight of proud Romanians, hands on hearts
I was with Kenny and the band last night in Exeter still a top band ,i have also had the pleasure of playing drums with them a few times for my dear friend Ron Bowden !!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Midnight in Moscow, kenny ball and his jazzmen- I was brought up on this music, this album is my particular favourite. The music is fabulous, a wonderful mix of folk songs and a great band. I have heard 'midnight in moscow' sung by an elderly russian though I'm not sure it was midnight in Moscow lyrics he was singing but it was that great tune. Dont know what Kenny or his Jazzmen are doing now, hopefully enjoying their retirement from a great career. Thanks guys.
I remember them on Morecombe and Wise. They were always a good turn. They must have played for millions over the years. Great entertainment.

There's no way to listen to this sitting down. I was in grade school when this was a hit. I knew, even then, this is a masterpiece.
