everyone can eat shit that dont think this song and Kristy is the best on earth! 80's rule and Kristy have the voice of an angel !!! Marry me Kristy..lol I love you!!!
love it!!! This movie has made me laugh and smile since I first saw it as a kid. I am a hopeless romantic with a sense of humor, this movie is perfect. haha! Thanks for sharing!
When I watched this as a kid and listened to the RECORD i thought it was a kid movie. Then I watched it as an adult and realized all the sexual innuendoes decided it is NOT a kid movie. I love this movie!!!
*This Just in: AP News has just reported that 70s TV and film actresses Kristy McNichol, Tatum O'Neal, and Linda Blair, previously thought to be different individuals, are actually the same person.
I fell in love with this movie at age 8. I would watch it every night. Im only 14 right now and I still love it. This movie rocks. I cant stop watching it!
my middle aged housewife neighbor gets drunk on white wine and blasts this song from an old LP. She mops the floor, dusts the shelves while singing this song at the top of her lungs. After a while she throws down the broom and sings to herself in the mirror.
i love this movie and this song, yet i had a chance encounter with Kristy mc, and asked her to sign my cassettee ,she said no, i could believe it.. oh well
My grandparent bought this movie for us to watch at their house... and we watched it every time we were there! My sister and I knew all the songs. Loved and still love this cheesy movie!
I had the biggest crush on her when I was a young-un.. well actually I had a crush on her / the girl that played Joe on "The Facts of life" / Erin Grey from the Buck Rogers tv show / Linda Carter from Wonder Woman & Olivia Newton John - Xanadu
Kristy McNichol was an exceptionally talented and popular dramatic actress...until "The Pirate Movie" came along. Her career needed the pumpin' & blowin' of artificial respiration after it came out.
"when this movie was released, it caused a rift in the space-time continuum by simultaneously being the best and worst movie of all time " by Figurehead24
I could not have said it better myself. Well put, good fellow!
Haha...I love this movie...so cheesy but so good (at least to me). This was one of my favorite little songs from the movie. Got it on an old VHS tape that was recorded off the TV ages ago.
The movie this is from has been a favorite of mine since it first came out. The lyrics for this song flitted through my mind a few minutes ago as I was reading something unrelated so I had to look it up here on YouTube- so happy to find it! Mabel, lol! Brings back such fond memories! Thanks so much for uploading it!
Somebody said,"Christie is a lesbian". If this is true. There goes some of my child hood fantasies! Wait, maybe not. I have a new fantasy!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!1
@VFCFAN101 me either.. i used to watch it when i was a little girl... and i still watch it... i remember all the lyrics... all time favorite childhood movie!
I love this movie!! does natalie portman not remind you of a youg kristy McNicol? does anyone know where i could get this movie my daughter would love it when i was like 8or nine this was the best movie ever i still find myself singing the songs at 32. thank you for posting this
I was just singin this song today in the car and realized just how completely WRONG the lyrics are. This movie was so ahead of its time with all the satire and innuendo. Best movie ever. <3
I was so happy when I found this on youtube. I was 13 when it came out and like so many others I watched it over and over again. I can't believe I remember I still remember all the words to the songs. It is still available on VHS on Amazon for like $3 if anyone is interested. I think I might order for my daughter to watch. LOL
I loved this movie. I think my sister and I watch it about a hundred times the summer it came out on video. I can still remember all the words to the songs.
I LOVE, LOVE, LOVE this movie! Thanks for putting this up. I could watch this movie for hours (and have!) and won't get sick of it. Nobody understands why I like this movie, but I can see from the comments that there are others that love it just as much!
This is one of my all time favorite movies. I've see in hundreds of times and each time I would notice something going on in the background that I didn't see before. It is very smart and very silly at the same time. Yes, it needs a new rebirth!!!
I love this song despite the fact that it got a Razzie for 'Worst Original Song' that year. It's quite fun - but it's so cheesy that he's clearly not underwater. As if sand acts that way in the water - lol.
I don't know why this movie would be called a failure. Everyone I talk to loved it!! If anything it is definetly cute..and deserves a rebirth for this generation. Something sweet and innocent ahhhh those were the days!
Kristy and Chris..you both were great!! Love the movie and love you!!
You are so right proudlib! I was almost 13 when this came out. I remember seeing this with my older brothers in Carmel CA in the summer of 82. This along with Star Trek II, Tron and other greats made this a summer of great films and memories!
This is the most hilarious movie on the face of the earth! I totally agree with you. And if you ever take a look at my profile you may see that I like Mel Brooks. If you don't already know he is side splitting hilarious. I dont ALWAYS laugh during his movies. I n this movie I SPLIT MY SIDES. I never laugh. As for the "rebirth" It just aired on the Fox Movie Channel. If you mean a "remake" I want to do one! Unfortunately(i cant spel!) I am not famous OR old enough to pass for eightteen. Darn it!
I remember seeing the posters up in cinemas for this when I was a kid. I also remember it bombed at the box offic-critics bagged the crap out of it. Who cares it's cheesy as hell and I love it.
you know that this movie got a few razzies for the worst movie, actress, actor, and songs.. for the confused.. razzies are awards given to the worst movies of the year.. this one got a few in 1985.
Actually, she spent several years after this was made playing Barbara on Empty Nest among other projects.
