  • im not a religious person but that was a very interesting video

  • Awesome and frightening? Yeah, three seconds in and I'm out.

  • INCREDIBLE VIDEO!!! SO INSPIRING!!!!

Any chance you'll make an updated one?

  • Absolutely! This really brings the prayers to life. And, it shows that it applies to all of humanity, not just the Jews (of course). Thank you for producing this.

  • Is there an update for this year?

  • @torboy1974 unfortunately not this year. hopefully sometime soon.

  • let's make peace Brother!!!

    i respect you !!

  • arent the high holidays in the bible and there noone said anything about being judged who shall live? i say god judges on mondays!

  • arent the high holidays in the bible and there noone said anything about being judged who shall live? i say god judges on mondays!

  • Follow Thy Self

so as not to blow things up

    here you brother

    easy way is

    no way!

    real love takes real effort!!!

  • VERY VERY POWERFUL. this video makes me very scared, but I am sure it will help my prayers on yom kippur. thank you

  • THIS year will fast, 100% :)

  • to all the critics:

This video has nothing to do with pandering to fear or anything of the sort. If you watch it closely you can see the clear message. Our lives are in the hands of G-D for (perceived) good or bad. And it gives strong advice to help yourself out; Repentance, Prayer and Charity (good deeds).

I thought it was an excellent and eye opening video.

  • mmmm dont know if I like this vidio. very harsh. was more to get you scard than you get you giviing loving..... is that what we need how knows everyone to there own I surpose!

  • not at all, it points out what life is, the truth and nothing more. some people are scared by the truth do doubt.

  • Awesome. Kudos to the producers and directors and to all who contributed.

It will give you the chills \.

Clear your mind and really watch and listen.

    Reizl

  • Wow, truly inspiring yet definitly put you in your place when u see this and realize that there is a god up there pulling all the strings ..everything is in control..not yours. Shanah Tova, may we all merit a happy and healthy new year!

  • This video is pandering to fear. I think it stinks. Stop trying to appease a vengeful God and instead try to enjoy your lives. They aren't that long as it is.

  • and for those exalted individuals./ You know, hitler was exalted in Germany, even by credulous jews. Obama, palin, mccain, biden, all of these people are RAGING maniacs. Satanists. Understand their occult mechanics and you can pretty much understand who they are and why they do what they do. and BTW, torah is the truth, kabbalah and chassidut are the most important subjects that need to be studied! we are entering the end times. I just hope people stop trusting these lying evil people in power.

  • this video is amazing. it makes me cry

  • wow. :( this vid makes me so sad. some1 msg me!! xD Y

  • Please visit Torahanytime (.)com to watch and listin to many great Torah lectures. Great Rabbi's including Rabbi Mizrachi, Rabbi Wallerstein, and much much more, Believe me you wont want to miss it. Kol Tov (all the best).

  • amazing.. Gmar Hatimah Tovah

  • i have the dvd

  • Whato do you mean?

  • That was an extrememly powerful video, and it will change my prayer and approach to the upcoming high holidays!

  • AWESOME!

  • The meaning of the words is the meaning of life

  • Compelling and many want to know why we go to pray. What is the meaning of these two holidays. Well, this is a moving explanation.

May we all be inscribed. Amen

  • Amen!!!

  • that was great, and it will definitely change the way i pray

  • oh my goodness- that video made that tefilla so real. i happen to think "unisaneh tokef" is such a scary part of rosh hashona and this video made me realize how real what it's saying is. wow.

  • "ka'asher hu sham"

  • So what?

  • Your welcome... I don't think it matters much either. I have great love for the Jewish people my brother-in-law is an Israeli and my family has many Jewish friends..

  • Am Yisroel Chai!

Bezras Hashem, we will all see the Geulah Bimheirah Beyamaeinu.

    Thank you for this video.

  • amen!!!!

  • OMG! this was so intense!! g-dx HASHEM ( i am sorry for everything!! x

  • L'Shannah Tova everyone!!

    luv the music

  • Happy Rosh Hashanah, from your Catholic brothers and sisters! I hope you all have a holy and happy New Year. Best wishes. Nice video.

  • Good video overall, but "Earthquake" and "Stoning" are NOT the same thing.

  • We don't know why things happen. Only God knows the reason. But whatever happens, we can try to make something good from it, like comforting and helping others. A good analogy is when a little child gets a shot. It's painful and s/he doesn't know why s/he's getting it. Then the mother comforts the child.

May we have a healthy and happy year. Things might not always turn out like we want, but whatever challenges we have, may we build something positive from it.

  • Shana Tova

  • your question is a good one and answerable just not in a 1 minute post. We do not claim to know G-d's ways, sometimes what seems bad is really good (for example, you miss a train and you are all upset but if you had taken it, you might have gotten hurt in an accident etc), I recommend you read "The Garden of Emuna" by R' Arush. Sometimes G-d rewards the evil in this world so they wont get any reward in the world to come...if you still have questions feel free to message me

  • have you researched the power or of prayer to make that statement ? besides you can look at prayer as a way of reaching yourself and who you are and thereby bettering yourself which would affect change in this world

  • great video

  • I believe this is a blessing, it stirs the soul to reflect on whether you are in your own world, or know what is going on. Yes, actions can make changes, but if we do not pray, will the Almighty allow our actions to be fruitful? Well done. Shalom, Am Yisrael chai.

  • Right on ! Peace doughboy

  • Prayer, the best way to do nothing and still think your helping =D

  • The video is owerful and thought provoking. It really made me stop and take notice.

  • What is life? Just to breath? We want to be here for an eternity, not just another year of health... Rosh Hashana is a day where we pray for the ability to fulfill and bring to fruition our true potential and not merely be part of the environment that reacts to the stimulations of society.

  • its a terrible video no one should watch it. scaring people is not a way to make them do tshva

  • On Rosh Hashonoh we are CROWNING OUR KING, our creator. Between Rsoh Hashonoh and Yom Kippur we do Teshuvah (return to our rightfull place) and Yom Kippur we are judged and on Hashonoh rabo it is sealed.

  • Excellent video ~ Am Yisrael chai!

    Baruch HaShem!

  • amen sela

  • Terribly offensive. This is not the Jewish way

Judaism is not about fear, blood and death. This paints g-d as a tyrant. There is so much depth and beauty in the Prayers of Rosh Hashanah, why focus on the negative???

  • nothing wrong with a little bit of muzar

  • 1) its not focusing just on the negative. maybe you are, but if you watch it properly you will see that there is lots of positive in it also.

    2) this is probably one of the most famous Rosh Hashanah prayers and it is going through each word of the prayer.

    3) its not negative at all because if you would have watched the whole thing, you would have seen thet repentance, prayer and charity will prevent all this

  • sorry. that was a reply to alhasela

  • We have to put this film in context of what its purpose is - and that is to explain a particular prayer in the literagy, not to be an explanation of the Jewish outlook on G-d nor on the whole of the prayers designated for Rosh Hashana.

  • Great Video! A year ahead of blessings indeed!

  • It's so creepy how much G-d can do in just this one short year. I was so gripped by that fact...and then we say...but it can be annuled, makes you wanna pray just a bit harder...no? What a fantastic job! Well done!!!

  • We saw this in school today, I think it's an amazingly epic, thought evoking film...a lot of kids in my class over analyzed it to the point that they didn't like it, though, which was upsetting; it's supposed to humble you and they really ruined the point..

  • Truly moving!

L'Chaim, Shalom, Tova, Bracha, Parnasa, Hatzlacha and Ahava for everyone's year ahead!

  • Bravo! A gripping film! Changed my life as soon as I saw the cool text, the earth in the background, and heard the dramatic music playing. Emmy anyone?

  • This is among the most holy and inspirational videos I've encountered on YouTube. Thank you for this.

  • This was very thought provoking for me.

and this is so true Repentance along with prayers and charity seems to be the only hope and way. But how can we personally make a difference is the question we must ask today? If we want to see change we have to emobody that change. Please I encourage all to watch A Sacred duty today. It has made a true difference in my life forever! True change that we must consider that will help others as well! Thanks for sharring this today with us. Just beautiful!!

  • BS"D

    May we merit.

Best wishes of a wonderful new year 2 U & yours.

    Shannah Tovah.

  • Very powerful!

  • BS"D

May we ALL B inscribed & sealed in the book of good life. כתיבה וחתימה טובה

  • By bringing images to familiar words, the words become more real and evoke additional images. May our prayers feel connected to our lives, eliciting teshuvah, gratitude, and hope.

  • An amazing video - unfortunate and true. May we all merit a year filled with health happiness a good things

  • The definition of stoning from Maimonides, and I think the Talmud, is that they drop a huge stone onto the person. In English, I know that stoning is something else.

  • wow! this is so inspiring! thank you im sure it will enhance my davening on rosh hashana and yom kippur.

  • incredibel

  • One can quibble:

-- translate "Rosh Hashanah" and "Yom Kippur"

-- 'by stoning' would better be represented by the stoning of an Iraqi girl accused of adultery than by the earthquake in China (which, in any case, was already mentioned earlier in the video)

-- true 'tranquility' is more than a walk on the beach

...but the message itself is timeless and appropriate. Thanks!

  • Truly Awesome!
