lynn knew me when i was young: Ivy K.... all I have to say is - I'm so proud of you - when you started in Kindergarten at Norge – it was a ‘first’ for you and a ‘first’ for your wonderful teacher Susan Parker (Edwards). It took persistence, not only from your Mom- but from many people- to get you the services and the right people in place– to help you and make it work–
and it was a learning process for all of us who worked with you. You taught me so much – you showed spunk and determination that everyone knew would take you far. I love what you said, “If kids with disabilities are included when they're young, they'll stay included all their lives…..” And gosh, look at you – still fighting the fight – not only for yourself but for many other folks. Amazing!!!

my reply: wow lynn. that was beautiful! i had so many great adults around me when i was young. i'm so blessed.
i'll say by my 20's the 'first' thing had really gotten old and tiresome. on a good day i take pride in it thou. :)
