I think Vivien would have a field day with Beyonce and Vivienne and Liz Taylor look very much alike but both equally beautiful, fierce-dominat-cat like. I still have to say I prefer Marilyn only because she appears to have a softer more flirtatious and playful image than these women, charismatic, generous naive but not stupid. That is what made Marilyn special. And all the women WERE jealous of her and regarded her as "the mistress" because MArilyn could very easily take any woman's man

Um...WHAT? First off, u did NOT just mention Beyonce in the same sentense as Vivien Leigh. And no one was jealous of Marylin, she was one of the dumbest women ever, no man stayed with her for more than a week, she was very fucked in the head and a terrible actress. She was just hyped up to be a sex symbol, strip off all that makeup and dresses and u have a complitely average looking white girl. Liz Taylor and Vivien were women of STUNNING BEAUTY and 100% untouchable.

Marilyn was very obviously not stupid.Have you watched any of her interviews? She played it soft because she was an orphan and in desperate need to be loved, and accepted. And that is precisely why she got so much love. Only a woman with nothing to lose would dare be so openly vulnerable all the time. She risked it all, and she won. It's as simple as that.

I forgot what my comment was. lol. I know what you mean about acting vulnerable, but then, maybe you were doing it wrong. lol. there's a difference between physical vulnerability and emotional vulnerability. but, what exactly IS "real love", anyway?

If you ask me, Marilyn definitely got real love from some men, at least, because emotional vulnerability is necessary in any deep human connection. And she seemed very emotionally vulnerable.

After all, the difference between acting strong or weak lies in a person's deepest motivation. People who put their own well-being and personal ego above any other priority in life will always be the "stronger" ones. It is but logical..it's probably the main reason why I was never impressed by Leigh. She beams ego and selfishness both on and off screen. Marilyn might not have been the best actress, but she was deeply humane.

Um no. This has nothing to do with "vulnerability" she had an IQ of 0 and everyone who has worked with her couldnt stand her after a few days. Many directors also said that she had no idea what she was doing infront of the camera. I did watch her interviews, and theres NOTHING in those blank eyes of hers, she smiled and batted her lashes and thats ALL she knew how to do. She in fact WAS obviously VERY unintelligent and her past has nothing to do with it.

Great job! A great tribute for the new year! I love the footage from Making of a Legend. It's interesting, in the footage from 1960, Vivien isn't smiling very much. It's actually quite sad. 1960 wasn't an easy year for her.
