  • I know they hated the nirvana comparisons and I never really thought they sounded all that similar, but the resemblance in dan's voice at the end is uncanny

  • @pikulicluka That was my point, douchepacker. Apparently, you didn't catch the sarcasm in my comment. I was commenting on the guy above me that wrote "4,000,000,000+ albums sold", saying that Led Zeppelin hasn't even sold 4 billion albums, there's no way Silverchair has. You might just need to look in the mirror for one of those "dumb teenie-weenies".

  • @liquorandpoker I am sorry, you are right. I did not see any other comment about the number of albums sold and therefore assumed you were being serious.

    Indeed my bad!

  • HOLY FUCK....I MISS THIS SHIT!! Brings me back to sixth grade!!

  • chills....

  • Great song. I can't believe Johnsy was, i think 7 when he wrote this, Gillies had just turned 6 and young Chis-o was only 5. Story goes, they wrote most of this album on ukuleles as the 8 fret stretches on some of the transposed chords Johnsy had invented years earlier were a challenge for the young diggers.

  • @hotel990 they were 15

  • @bauzable hellyeh 15 and freakshow 17 :p

  • @liquorandpoker that's because Led Zeppelin is a cover band

  • @terrorismtactics Um......yeah.......ok.

  • 2 people are hiding in the shade

  • they're missing out these days, back when we were growing up with this, it was awesome!

  • God I love this song so much !!! You forget how good the music was at this time !! This Record was FUCKIN AMAZING!! and they were 17!! FFS

  • beneful!

  • "don't go. hiding. hiding. hiding! in the SHAAAADEEEEE!!! yeah. in the shade. in the. in the shade. in the shaaaadee. in the SHAAAADEEEEEEE!!!" = badass.

  • god this song is sooooo amazing i can replay the hell out of this bitch lol !!!!!!!!!!!!

  • aw fek I have a song called Shade aswell >.> I forgot about this song!

  • @snowleopard1986 I just have so much respect for this group especially Daniel Johns the dude is such a great song writer, has a great voice and not to mention a real good guitarist......I love this group

  • @snowleopard1986

Decent? Come on now lol This album's one of the best written album's of all time....and a 15 year old wrote it I've got MAD respect for Daniel Johns....this album is one word.....BRILLIANT

  • Just young teenagers when they recorded this. Where are they now? WTH happened?!

  • This song(dont care what they did after) , is one of the most amazing songs I ever heard. Like a great movie, keeps you going and then the end, it's a finale at it's finest.

  • I loved silverchair since i was 13 yrs old ...Daniel was only 15 or so when he wrote this song!!... how can a teenager write a guitar solo like that! <3 still gets me every time

  • i miss this album as well. rock on 90s the only good music we had

  • I get extreme chills from his voice mainly. The music is heavy as hell and intelligently crafted, too.

  • sigh.. sorry, gettin nostalgic

  • i would give up everything to go back to the 90's. best music scene ever

  • @GenocideDisciples me and you both man

  • so much meaning in just one song

  • This song/album brings back so many memories. They were actually 12-13 years old when recorded this album, they won a triple j battle of the bands comp and won the chance to make a ep album, on that ep they recorded 3 songs if i remember right, tomorrow, blined and stoned. These guys were considered prodigies, daniel johns got bullied at school thats why hes lyrics are so deep, bullying fucks kids up. Check the song blind, its not well known but an awesome song, also faultlines interlude riff is mad

  • @xSAINTANG3Rx so you could say this is a bullying success story.

  • First CD I ever bought for myself was Silverchair's Neon Ballroom. That Christmas, my mom got me this cd. They have been one of my favorite bands for over 10 years now. Not the biggest fan of their newer stuff, but, hey... They grew up, their music's bound to change.

  • 2nd best song on this album ... Behind Suicidal Dream.

  • Definatly in my top 5 tunes ever

  • Makes me kinda sad that I grew up listening to Oasis and more english bands to be honest because music like this is more me

From 11 and up when I started finding a great interest in other genres I found more stuff like this and I've never looked back.

Hopefully I will create a band similar to these guys one day..

    Amazing and talented musicians.

If anyone can send me a messege with the names of there albums Id appreciate it I think I will purchase them

  • @xSmashxBlackops alice in chains....nuff said.

  • oh my god what a great song

im so sad cause i couldnt lived the 90´s

and this decade was shittttttttttttttttt but i think the that first years not much

ohhhh pleaseeeeee pleassee someone help me please i want to dissapear

i dont want to lived another shit deacde of music i hope that 2012 its true:(

  • Lol. This is 4:20 minutes long.

  • Best ever Album of Silverchair :D I've been listening for Years, and still i like it! enormously hot!

  • wow...im sorry...but this is the best album they have ever had!!!

  • Best track off Frogstomp.

  • this song is bad as fuck,if you dont like it you can suck it

  • Daniel johns was 16 when is band won a "tremplin" and it's during this year that they made this album.

  • This song is badass... Silverchair did the grunge thing just a couple years too late.

  • @YevKassem6288 Yea but as young as they were, I think starting two years earlier would have been impossible.

  • this song changed my life <3

  • I like the first album, but even the guitarrist of Silverstein (Daniel Johns) says: "I don't feel like our first two albums were Silverchair: that's our teenage high school band. I don't like them at all. I listen to them and go 'That's cute', especially the first one, because Frogstomp we were 14. But the second one we're like 16, I'm like 'You're getting older. You're running out of chances'."

Apparently the band itself doesnt' like their own music

  • @Ronylea ur an idiot... its not silverstein

  • @flababungo Gee. In this case in really was. Sorry.

  • Silverchair sucks now. I want the old Silverchair back.

  • Ahhh... I just NEED this sound at times....... Fucked up world sigh

  • solid fuckin album. i'm a straight metal head. daniel johns was my same age when he wrote this shit. killer

  • whoever downthumbed u was a fuckin toool

  • FROGSTOMP AHHHHH MAN I MISS THE 90S

  • @HESPLAHBOY have you listen to craic shuften (triple j) acceptable in the 80's? do. and then wait for the musical revelation of 2010-2020. trust me if it was a race horse it would be short price fav all day!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • @HESPLAHBOY LOL I got this album for 99 cents at Pawn America... It's Awesome

  • @HESPLAHBOY I miss the 90's too...

  • @HESPLAHBOY this is the type of song where i miss the 90's is the only probable response.

  • @HESPLAHBOY dont feel baaaaaaaaaad, your not the ooooooooooonly onnnnnnneeee, yeeaaaahhhh...........................

  • i like the slow songs songs on this album

common from a hard rocker born in 83

  • Same here! 1982

  • im one of the rare people who actually knows what frog stomp is 59% of the population wouldnt know what i was talking about but after the albulm freak show i turned into one of them because there new albulm was so gay sounding i had to make sure it was the same people

  • Doesn't that mean that 2/3 of the worlds population have a silverchair album?!

  • Yes and if so, Michael Jackson and every other artist in history has nothing on Silverchair. Lol

  • @izakst no... i just have 3.9 billion of them

  • 4,000,000,000+ albums sold!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • lol, 4 billion. ur close!!!!!!

  • first time ive heard this in years , awesome riff

  • damn hell, good memories :)

a long time ago...silverchair WAS the shit, i was really young as i heard them the first time.

  • this album is god ..its their only real album even daniel said after the 1st album he lost interest in hard music ,its a damn shame ,frogstomp forever!

  • don't go hidin' in the shade *headbang* 90's style!

  • One of their best songs EVER!

  • well put...

  • i love this song! Is this like a really old song or something???

  • This song was off this album "Frogstomp" that was released in 1995, so by todays standard it is pretty old. They were all like about 14 or 15 when they made this album

  • Dude thanks! they come out when i was born lol. well thankz

  • than your'e fourteen

    enjoy

    bless

  • really? that's interesting.

  • @DyslexiaChick man sick song, however old young musically tone def or savy xx

  • @DyslexiaChick They were really young... and yeah its a bit old...

  • @DyslexiaChick no it is not really old unless you think people who became this song are old
