My grandpa went to Bataan to liberate It. He told about stories of Americans laying naked in their huts, unable to move and covered in their own filth. He also told of a fist fight he had with a Japanese commander. He pinned him down and shot him with his own pistol, the same way they executed Americans. He said he did it to settle one of many scores.
To the American people especially to the veterans, i am very grateful for the liberation of Philippines from Japanese brutality during the war. GOD BLESS AMERICA.
My mother always told me how the Japanese killed lot of my countrymen and how the American helped the filipinos.

These guys will never be forgoten in my family. Rest well gents, you deserve it many times over. I used to work with one of these guys and would tell me many details of how it was. I am so sorry for all the suffering.
You are all HERO's, We can never forget what you did, Its so sad to note, that this current generation for the most part. Does not have a clue of what happened in the Philippines after Dec 7, 1941. Thanks so much for your service.
My dad was in the death march too .. He was a philippine army soldier that time and recieve a lot of medals for his service including a couple of purple hearts and the last medal he recieve for his service was a medal of valor awarded by Ferdinand Marcos.
My uncle died in Corregidor. Can one of them correspond with me through email about what happened to the civilian employees of "The Rock"? Thank you for this professor.

What is most remarkable is that they came home and created lives without wanting fanfare. God Bless you and your example
