this is really one of best movies ive seen in a very long time...its funny at the right moments..serious at the right moments..and the love story between the deaf girl and him is very sad especially the part when he steals her money and they realize they know each other from when they were kids and he tried to save her

That's just it, Smokey. He didn't try to save her. He DID save her. Just not how he imagined he would and he didn't realize in the end that he did save her. That's what makes the scene and the whole story so sad and so beautiful. At the end of the film the change from adults to kids symbolizes they finally found their way back to the people they were meant to be.

This story hit me on so many personal lvls, and the funny thing is I didnt even see the deeper meaning until watching it years later for the 5th time. The first few times I saw it I thought it was the dumbest movie ever.
