lol, the V10 of the CGT is a high rev engine and american V8's usually dont. American V8's just sound deep like a bulldozer but it is boring and you dont get this exciting feeling. In F1 you can hear V8's at 17500rpm and the Carrera GT sound really comes close to an F1 car.

Nascars go into high 9k's, they can probably make it to 12k for a short period of time. The problem with F1 is that they are 4 liter short stroke DOHC, you get a different sound. I can listen to engines all day, but I just haven't heard a Large displacement v8 above 10k yet. besides, I already heard the most amazing sound. The BRM V16.

ya american v8's for the most part all sound the same as well because usually the displacement is fairly similar and all have pretty much the same technology and engineering and they are just deep and loud. Makes you go woahh that sounds loud but this just induces shivers, pure violence. It's like a shotgun vs sniper riffle, both deliver a massive blow just one dose it in such a manner that makes it much more efficient and stylish.

why it should be bad? some years ago every F1 car used a V10 engine, the V8's are pretty new to F1 and they still sound the same cause relativ small engine in litre combined with very high rev's. Ferrari used to have V12 engines in F1 in the past.

Actually, It's not bad because the creators of the F1 engines made this engine, less power; around 800 HP yet 250 FT Lb of torque for a 500 kg car! And this one is 550 HP and 457 FT LB of torque for 1100 kg(sorry for metric measurements... too much Gran Turismo 4!)
