  • iam a fan i like yessongs and closed to the edges

but in france i have no plaisir to see this group

  • This is as Wakeman once said "The total triumph of music" I never ever heard anything like this piece live, it lifted me off the ground, Cheeezus!

  • This song is about War & Peace, with Soon being peace.....

If only Yes could reconcile their differences and perform once again as this line up.

Life is too short to fuss & fight....

They are truly magnificant together, as one.....

  • I'm glad they got back to more structured songs with interesting melodies.

  • Sublime...

  • To WintersWar- of course. Feel free to keep believing in imaginary friends, as humankind did thousands of years ago, when ethics, science and philosophy didn't exist yet, and we needed such rules to prevent the clan enemies to kill each other.

  • @acataniquiet reaching 1000's of years into the past as we listen to a song 30 some years old?

  • Soon oh soon the light Pass within and soothe the endless night And wait here for you Our reason to be here Soon oh soon the time All we move to gain will reach and calm Our heart is open Our reason to be here Long ago, set into rhyme Soon oh soon the light Ours to shape for all time, ours the right The sun will lead us Our reason to be here The sun will lead us Our reason to be here
  • What the f... has god to do with this? This wonderful piece of art, as many other masterpieces in painting, cooking, music, architecture, sculpture and literature are all products of THE HUMAN MIND. The beauty of the human mind lies on its ability to express itself through art, there's nothing to do with imaginary beings, they're not "works of god". Please, stop repeating this litany and pay attention to what our wonderful minds are able to do!

  • to acanti: is it okay with you if each and every one of us interpret this song as we hear and imagine it? Furthermore, is it okay if we express our opinion about it? God fearing, agnostics and atheists alike. thanks.

  • OH MY GOD!!!!!

  • Our reason to be here...... the LIght - Thank you Jon for always showing us this in your lyrics. I cannot listen to this sound without being overcome with emotion, tears flowing and so at one with the LIght. God Bless you!

  • Long ago, set into rhyme.

When I was in grade school I used to come home from school, sit in my Dad's big recliner and immerse myself in this amazing music from my older brother's collection. This song became my daily refuge. The seeds of my future life were sown in the beautiful solitude of listening to YES music.

My heart is still open, Jon. Thank you.

  • @ChordCluster

I'm as old as your dad and this was my favourite musik. Its a wonder for me, bacause I've don't hear it about 25 - 30 years.

I hope and believe we are a little bit diferent from any other people, ho have never hear this voices!

    a man from Hungary

  • intemporel, immuable, merveilleux

  • Jon Anderson's voice tenders the ship of love that the 70's held for me. Steve's guitar plucks at my soul so long adrift.

  • Now that's what music was intended to be. Beyond words!!!

  • *****

  • I get chills every time I hear it.

  • Yes, simply Perfect!

  • this is genius... and to think it's an excerpt from a longer composition... shall the brilliance of "Yes" never fade...

  • After 30 years they seem to take it easier than it was in the past. Simply amazing!

  • sublimes

  • mAGIC!

  • my favorite part of this album was always the part right before Soon begins. Right from the point where Alan bangs the drums several times and then they launch into that up tempo instrumental part just before soon. I once saw Steve Howe alone in a night club outside Sacramento, CA and he did a fantastic version of Soon. :-)

  • I caught Yes' Relayer tour in the mid 70' at Madison Square Garden, New York City. I was young and had no idea at the time what I was taking in. It's a shame that main stream music now a days can't hold a candle to what was common for the time 30 years ago.

  • We saw the latest incarnation of YES at the end of the February 2010. I missed seeing the "real" lead singer of the band. Hopefully his replacement is temporary.

  • I never realized that Steve Howe plays pedal steel guitar during this portion of 'Gates Of Delirium'. I always thought that it was keyboards.

  • i was such a yes fan in my youth - now this stuff just seems so bloated - still like to listen once in a while

  • C'est vraiment ...

Indescriptible. Du génie, et du travail.

  • great 40 years ago original now tha life what a gaz

Soon, oh soon..... the light ...........

    Merci Kayorn.

  • Jon is pleased to announce the first confirmed date of his "Have Guitar Will Travel" European Tour. More dates and details are expected in the near future.

    Date: June 30, 2009

    Location: Warsaw, Poland

    Venue: Theatre Roma

FROM HIS OWN WEBSITE, THE MAN IS BACK!!!YAAAY

  • he is not back....

  • our prayers are with Jon..he has given us all so much with his beautiful, meaningful music

  • MERAVIGLIOSI! brunik...italy

  • The best music on the planet period! F_ _ k Rap. Sad news...Yes frontman and founding member Jon Anderson was admitted to the hospital last month after suffering a severe asthma attack. He has now been diagnosed with acute respiratory failure and was told by doctors this weekend that he needs to rest and not work for a period of at least six months or suffer further health complications. Upon receiving this news the band has determined that their tour plans need to be put on hold.

  • Yes is simply the best

  • get well Jon

  • C'est manifique! Merci kayorn!

  • There are few songs that can induce such emotion. This takes me back to the first time I saw Yes. 1977 at the Glasgow Apollo. What memories. All is bliss..I am happy and 30 years younger today.

    Bon Continuation.

    Mark

  • this is probably one of the MOST MAGICAL musical moments i've ever witnessed...

"Set Into Rhyme"...faints!..what beauty...sublime timeless soulful loveliness

  • No words can describe that!MAGICAL!!!

  • The Best

  • Only a word...WONDERFUL...

  • Only a word...WONDERFUL...

  • when relayer first came out someone gave it to me as a present.on 8 track!

  • really perfect song !!! is a great journey listen this music...when i die , i want this music in my funeral !!!

  • mint

  • WOW i feel like i'm 17 again.Still sounds great after all these years. Thanks for the post

  • I'm 17!!!

I really enjoy jon anderson voice & music... it's very peaceful... i think that he has one of the most beautiful voices i've ever head, any voice won't give me the peace and love that i hear from jon's voice.

    It's great...

  • This song is perfect!,... really fantastic!!!

  • WOW that's amazing. What a beatiful endiong. I almost had tears in my eyes. It's the singer sounds excactly like he did thirty years ago.

  • What CD was this taken from. It's extemely good to see them again.

  • this is from relayer (the end of gates of delirium(about 5 or 6 minutes from the end))

  • Sorry I meant DVD. I've got Relayer.

  • DVD, I don't know but good luck in your search

  • YES!! they say music is the food of love.. this must be the food of life..

  • this is an awesome song. its so epic sounding with the violins and the pedal steel guitar

jon anderson's voice still sounds perfect even 30 something years later. not that many singers from his generation still sound as good as they used too

  • I completely agree with the above comment. Jon Anderson and Greg Lake used to be my two most favorite male vocalists. Anderson's voice is still awesome particularly considering his age, while Lake's voice is totally different now.

  • please translate in English. I dont know if this is a bad remark, or good. :/

  • He said he wonders what´s inside the composers when they imagine and create these beautiful sounds they give us

  • fantasmagorique...awesome...indescribable...

there is no word to describe the strength of this song, the strength which comes into you with all of these instruments...i dont lnow...i m just WOOOW

  • Yes, I remember. Such a beautiful song, "Soon the light, ours to shape for all time, ours the right, the sound will lead us, our reason to be here." It inspires my faith in God's plan for mankind as centered in Christ, and I don't care what anyone thinks otherwise.

  • You love the Bee Gees ... good for you.

  • Yes is up there with the Bee Gees.

  • please tell me thats a fucked up joke...

  • What a distinctive voice. S. Howe looks like a mad scientist @ 2:48. Has he ever acted in movies? I could see him in a H potter movie.

  • É simplesmente "YES".

  • I remember as a child, listing to all my Yes albums, putting on my head phones, and floating away in my mind and on the strings of Steve Howe. Their music will last forever in me and in my children. ( I hope )

  • Many regard Live at Queens Park Rangers Stadium as even better than Yessongs. Unbelievably it's one of the hardest videos to get. Not anymore, now the MASSES of Yes fans can have easy access to this concert by checking out our new 2DVD set - Yes A Celebration, 1969-1979. It features many Yes videos from the 70s as well as Live at QPR 1975 with improved audio. Click on my profile for clips

  • I want this fucking song to be playing when I die.

  • soon ..the light....immer noch ein Meisterwerk.

The song is the middle of the earth...or the food of life.

  • Because light encompasses us.

    My best thanks.

  • By far THE best version of the Gates of Delirium.

  • Yes wrote the book for Prog Rock

  • Perfect!

  • this sort of things that makes me think that god exists

  • wonderous beautiful spirit shining..if God does exist i hope he heard this perfection

  • @kayorn

It still makes me think and KNOW that God exists GOD (Gates Of Delirium)

  • @Pdoolesct
