  • It doesn`t matter who writes the song,i love that, and Ben Harper whith the Blind Boys shoot me directly to my hearth.I will like to hear the Dylan song but i can't find it.

  • Anyone knows the guitar tuning he uses in this song? open D?

  • @g1ac0m01980 The song is played in open E

  • this song reminds me of going to church with my grandparents thank you ben and BLBOA

  • Awesome; I can feel this song go up my spine man. Vary old school sounding love it.

  • To be more accurate, Danny O'Keefe (Goodtime Charlie's Got the Blues) wrote the song. Bob Dylan supplied Danny with the chord progression and the words "Well, Wel, Well" Danny wrote the rest.

  • Massive respect from Stockholm

  • Ben Harper's slide work slices right through to the bone, touching the heart and opening the soul. I label this one a true classic. Hit the rewind button!!!

  • This song needs a "LOVE" button!

  • Here's a vid explaining how this song came to be: watch?v=OLrEAP_WWBs

  • This was written by Bob Dylan (music) and Danny O'Keefe (lyrics). Ben Harper's version takes the song to a new and higher level.

  • Awesome!!!

    Grandma mary

  • The man who stole the water will swim forevermore But he'll never reach the land on that golden shore That faint white light will haunt his heart Till he's only a memory lost in the dark Dig a hole in the ground straight down to hell Till there ain't no more water in the well, well, well When you're down on your knees with nothing left to sell Try diggin a little deeper in the well, well, well Well, well, well Well, well, well
  • Well, well, what do we have here? Some incredible soul blues music i presume?

  • Terrific version of a great song by Danny O'Keefe and Bob Dylan. There's a funny video on YouTube of Danny explaining how the collaboration came to be.

  • "The man who stole the water will swim forevermore

But he'll never reach the land on that golden shore"

    ...wow!

  • I hope this guy gets signed by a good record company so he can spread the word. But thats the reason he is not. I hope he dosen't end up like a bunch of other good mucicians( jim Morrison, Kurt Cobain, John Lennon, Jimi Hendrix, Janis Joplin, Brad Nowel, ect.

  • "When you are down on your knees...won't you try digging a liitle deeper in the well, well, well..."

  • Thank you!

  • I LOVE Ben, my favorite musician of all time probably, but after reading the comments I feel the need to give credit where credit is due, Ben actually didnt write this song, Bob Dylan did :)

  • Oh my god, it's my video, I love Dylan, I love Ben, but I did'nt know this.. Shame on me !

    Thanks !!!

  • Dylan wrote a song called "well well well" but it was a completly different song...there wasnt anything similar about the songs (i.e. context, lyrics, musical composition) just go listen to the dylan song you will see

  • The song you are refering to is called "in my time of dying.... or dyin'" two different songs. Dylan and (O'Keefe?)wrote this one.

  • @jfrance55 and co-written by Danny O'Keefe...Danny O'Keefe released his own version in February 2000, on his album "Running From The Devil"

  • @jfrance55

credits are actually due to danny o'keefe..he wrote the song for dylan. still a great song performed by two great performers =]

  • Praise The LORD!
