they refer to the missions. book 1= mission 1.(anne cahill is nella chain)

book 2=mission 2.(mission takes place in india)

and by the night "they died, i think they mean amy and dan's parents, but im not sure.

okay,so page 129 says 1 instead,right? but lets pretend that the numbers are really letters of the alphabet. Lets say 1=A. And on pages 130 and 131,it says 14. Lets pretend that those numbers are both N,the 14th letter of the alphabet. If you use this method for the rest of the pages, it spells out:

ANNE CAHILL DID NOT DROWN.
