  • would you say that some of the things at urban outfitters is vintage?

  • @elizabethxoxoxo Urban Outfitters carries mostly new clothing, although they do carry some vintage-reconstructed items, meaning, clothing that has been made from dead-stock fabric or taken apart to be re-sewn into a new item... I don't know if I quite consider that vintage, technically, but you could say so in a round-about way :)

  • would you recommend goodwill?

  • @FanOfMiLeyRay Definitely! Sometimes it gets a little picked-over, but I've found some very nice things there :)

  • another idea: ask your own granny! I have a beautiful dress from my grandma from the 50/60 and it even fits perfectly.

  • Aww, I thought I mentioned that ;_; I actually have several 50's dresses from my Grandmother, she was a total fashion junkie + a pack rat. So that's a very good point :)

  • no, don't support walmart. the whole company is terrible.

but yeah, thrift stores are the best. vintage stores tend to get a little pricey.

oh, and you forgot to mention, if you can't find anything you like, then make it yourself. D.I.Y.'s the best way to go :)

  • Well, for poor folk like me... I'll take what I can get, haha ;)

D.I.Ys are GREAT, or course it wouldn't classify as vintage, but I've always dreamed of making a dress from a vintage pattern :)

  • i'm a poor folk too. but once you watch "walmart:the high cost for low prices" you'll understand why i wouldn't support walmart.

true. however...you can trick people into thinking its a true vintage piece :)

some may never even know the difference.

  • haha, I think I like the idea of making a dress that authentic looking XD Well... it's like a dream of mine, to make a dress. All I know how to do are some alterations and what not.

  • well i think you should go ahead and try making a dress. but first try it with some fabric you don't admire. and once you got it, make it from fabric of your choice. like they say, practice makes perfect :)

  • I can't look at your Videos No more or else I'll Fall More Deeply in Love With YOU!!! -Alex Castellanos
