I am so sad. This is Children of Bodom at their prime. After Alexi lost his Jackson's and Alexander left, I think Children of Bodom got sloppy. Their live performances since Alexi broke his wrist during Are You Dead Yet? have slowly declined after each bone break and their aging. The new albums are fantastic but they aren't the same as Hatebreeder or Follow The Reaper.

If they had anything else than an OFR (which I doubt), they did, because Alexi speced'em that way.

Hendrix was sick, Vai's a master, but I like Alexi because he's got great melodic sense. The solo from Everytime I Die is fucking gorgeous. My favourites are Frank Zappa and Jari Maenpaa though.

Hendrix's image is so huge, every kid knows him and wants to be like him when they first pick up a guitar. Not because he was a great player, but because he's an iconic figure.

I first heard Children of Bodom a few months ago, and I have to say Alexi Laiho is one of the best, if not THE best I have ever heard. So many master guitar players have failed to make music in bands. Alexi FRONTS one, and plays a million tasteful notes at the same time.

Not really. Cold hard fact is that Malmsteen is technically far superior to Alexi. His solos are actually harder to play than those of Alexi and Alexi can get sloppy when he's playin live. But I personally prefer COB's music over Malmsteen anyday. And that's what counts,right? After all,it's music and it won't necessary get better with super - mega - ultra technical solos.
