This is Gypsy music! mwa! Mwa! love it, and still can't believe this. I'm in shock. @_@ Just about every single is a hit. I usually only go for singles, but these guys make me love all the albums.
@password34 Hey, yeah! I admire panic at the disco, they're talented musicians, but I really dislike the singing style. This is just... infinitely better. <3 Man Man
Every song Man Man has ever written has meant a lot to me. From the beginning with "10 lb. Mustache" when I first bought it 6 or 7 years ago, they colored the grayness in life. The poetry of Honus, I swear, is better than Jim Morrison himself. Philly has been the birth of a lot of great types of music and bands, but this band is the best I've ever seen rise from Philly.
to me this album is like their dark side of the moon in the sense that it was a breaking point from a primal experimental stage to a more refined and classy stage
Last time i tried to figure out Man Man lyrics they came on and posted a comment in the comments section. (check out hurly/burly) I *really* hope this happens again .... anyways here's what i got so far. Please upvote and help me figure it out the lyrics- I got about 95% of it down 100% sure just need help with a few parts
The old version sounds like ten other songs they do (especially the bridge from "Zebra"). I love Rabbit Habits, but it definitely seems like an inbreeding of their older concepts. Life Fantastic is certainly another attempt at combining previous strengths (Habits' live energy, Six Demon's songwriting, Blue Turban's bright melodic textures), but, like this version, it succeeds where Habits often failed by dialing back the increasingly self-conscious element of spontaneity. Sacrilege, I know.
And I know that Man Man's energetic weirdness is what a lot of people love about them (me too), which is why I predict a backlash from fans on this album (and possibly this comment). But I suggest that Man Man's greatness is based on a ratio of unpredictable nonsense to great fucking songwriting. The former is best played up live and the ladder deserves the album. Life Fantastic is just plain catchy. Every song has been simultaneously stuck in my head since I got it from their show last Friday.
@crack3dmach1n3 i agree, this album is noticeably more... restrained, yet each track still has incredible composure behind it which stays true to the man man band.
This band reminds me of a band called "Trophy Scars", something about the tempo and vocals I guess. Loving this album at the moment :D

God, such a catchy, unique chorus. Man Man is original in a genre that is quickly becoming saturated with uninteresting shit.

it's a little sad when i see bands on their 4th album, that are actually really cool, and still are totally unknown.
Carry on, Man Man. You're awesome and unrefined.

@crack3dmach1n3 *latter. Don't wanna be picked apart by the people who think minor mistakes in spelling and grammar completely undermines your point.
