the repeating "riff" or whatever you call it during the verse sounds like something by debussy...specifically the beginning part of clair de lune. i wonder if that was on purpose. and what instrument is playing that...anyone know?
The instrument at the start is an oboe. How do I know? I play an oboe everyday. Hahaha. Though I'm not sure about this sounding like Debussy. Keep in mind there are only so many notes and chords to choose from. Yes there are endless possibilities but in the end every song you listen to will have something similar.
The kids in this video ..... they....they......discovered the glitch ......the glitch in the system...... A hole in our world, thus proving that they really were in a Matrix.....
gotta let the music sink in and let it flow through your body, no artist, as far as I know has actually made "Music." As a pianist to me real music is when the feeling shows through the music
This song is so under-rated. And so is 'Animatrix' including 'Reloaded' and 'Revolutions'. People don't appreciate true art spoken through deep logic anymore, it's like al they want is pure action.
This song was on a mixtape my ex-boyfriend made a long time ago. I always loved it, but never found out the title or the artist until years later I started listening to Stars and discovered it again. Full circles are nice.
The video has to do with the movie The Matrix. These kids find a spot that's like a "glitch" in the system where physics and such don't apply. The Animatrix was a compilation of smaller movies that were side stories to The Matrix trilogy. Stories of people that were normal or not Neo. It's a pretty cool movie, a different view point on things. Goes great with this song cause STARS is awesome.
Im from the Philippines and I don't know anyone who knows this band, this has been my favorite band, my favorite song is your ex lover is dead. yeah their music is magical,it goes through the whole world and only a few knows them.
I'm from Mexico, however, last year I went to Canada and stayed there for a few months. While living in Canada I felt in love with Stars *.* I totally agree with those who say they should stay in the indie scene. Even if that means that they would problaby never come to my country haha.
Stars has been my favorite band for going on 2 years now. I like in Oklahoma City, so that gives you an idea of how far beautiful music can reach out. Amazing song, and the video along with it invokes many emotions. 10/10
I'm from Spain and I love them!! i think u just need to look for something out of the ordinary...i discovered them through ' Take me to the riot' which is probably my favourite song ever! I think Stars are just amazing!!
I want Stars to be more famous, and well known, but to still stay in the indie scene as they're right now. No. they don't need to make into the mainstream.
Indeed, they're fantastic and have made it into mainstream airplay. They're shows are well attended globally. Music supervisors for The L Word (for sure) and The O.C. (I believe) have placed Stars singles into episodes.
are you sure you want them to be more famous? that's gonna make them mainstream and it'll most likely change the nature of their music that we're so in love with
@KelseaJulieShow what a shit comment i haven't seen this video for months and this crap comment is still up?
it's pretty dumb and selfish of you to think that keeping your "leet indie cred" is worth more than letting a talented group get the recognition and rewards they've been working hard for. Their music will change over time regardless and besides, being more obscure doesn't make you sound better.
@KelseaJulieShow Being famous does not make music mainstream! Mainstream music makes music mainstream. To keep shut about good music is not only simple minded, but offensive. Think about how much work they put into producing such brilliant songs. 180,000 views on this song and in the comment section they see that their fans don't want to spread their music? 50 thumbs up? I know u mean well, but there's a reason good music is underacknowleged. Trust the artists that work hard for their fans...
Stars has stated in interviews that they don't want to get big. They love playing for small crowds in a small, intimate type atmosphere. I agree with you, but I don't think we need to worry about them "getting popular". To them, it's all about the music. That rare to find these days.
I've only recently discovered the Stars and I have yet to dislike any of their songs. =) This one is very beautiful and calming; The video was great too! Thanks for this. =3
This is great work, really. I admit I was only looking for this song, but once the video got started I was pulled in to it's story. Your timing was right on and your sense of feeling was very moving as well. Excellent work, thanx for posting!
