  • I would LOVE to see a live vid of the Monks doing this. What a wild tune!!! LOVE THIS! (the cartoon thing rules too)

  • Remember them when I was in "HIGH" school, even painted the slogan on my car for the class day parade. Long live the Toronto music scene

  • Gotta love the Monks!

  • Wow!!! I went to an AC/DC concert in the summer of 1980 (Brian Scott was brand new to the band) in Toronto and this band opened up for them and all I could EVER remember was, "I got drugs in pocket and I don't know what to do with them" and I have FOREVER wondered who the hell they were!! This is awesome!!!

  • funny, I remember Brian Johnson taking over for Bon Scott, maybe there was a Bon Johnson whom Brian Scott took over for lol

  • @SirJabalot

    ??Brian Scott???

you got a combo of brian johnson and bon scott haha

i think you meant brian johnson

  • Hahahahaa

    I know, I know....

    I probably had a lot of drugs in MY pocket when I posted that.....Brian Johnson....Bon Scott....Brian Johnson....Bon Scott.....OK, I think I'm good now....

  • do u use mods

  • haha great song! and the cartoon upskirt at the end was a good touch lol

  • wow, last time i heard this song was when i was in grade school! lol, many many moons ago! good job on the vid! can you do one for intercity kitty, that would be awesome

  • : ) Thanks for the video , I loved this tune since the day it was released. The whole album is pretty good. Do you have Mr. E.M.I. off their Suspended Animation album.

  • haha I remember being 5 years old.. and hearing this song ALL the time.. my dad used to play it. I love this song :)

  • Loved the Monks, shame there's not more of their songs on YT.

    Thanks for this one. :-)

  • this prolly kicks butt on the original video, I love it.

  • this song was popular when I was 13. Ain't heard it in a dog's age. Anyone able to upload Pearl Harbour by the Monks I'd sure appreciate it.

  • I haven't heard this in years, great song. Awesome job on the video!!

  • for about 20 years i had drugs in my pocket everyday, and i always knew what to do with them, wasn't really that hard a decision lol, mind you they didn't tend to stay in my pocket for very long lol

  • ahhaha.. i remember dancing to this when i was five, singing to all the words and not knowing what they meant at all. im twenty now and wow this song makes me nastalgic. my mom liked some AWESOME music!!!

  • This song was played on CFNY 102.7 Toronto by David Marsden and shocked many listeners. What a great summer....we rolled joints to this song in my car.

  • CFNY the spirit of radio....all summer. The greatest station of it's time. They used to play blocks of Monks tunes..."love in stereo, johnny b rotten, spotty face.

  • This is the orginal recording of the The Monks circa 1979....2 albums "bad habits" and "suspended animation" . If you can find it on CD, it contains both albums and 6 unreleased tunes. Great early 80s band...I saw them live in Hamleton ON back in the day.

  • Is this the original video made with the song? Thing is, this song is pre-MTV, and I didn't think they made videos like this back then...? Very good video, BTW.

  • Man I can remember going to dances and the music guys would get in serious trouble for playing the song. My God how times have changed, now they sing and dance to songs about getting kids and hoe's addicted to crack so they can pimp them out. Oh and about getting shot in gang wars.

  • Which do you think was better, then or now?

  • Cool name btw,, Statistically I guess kids are less violent today, but the problems they have in school seem to me a bit more sophisticated. (Aids, gansta wannabe's, ect)

  • This song came out when I was in high school. I remember walking down the hall with my friends, singing this song...

  • Original song was done by another UK group.

  • no it wasn't you doofus.

  • Just what are you trying to say about Jamaica eh?

  • The Monks! May they live forever in the memories of all who appreciated them...

  • Wow...that takes me back. I used to love this album ("Bad Habits" by the Monks) back in the day.

  • Which Band is that? Mad Monks? Is it a geat Song

  • No, just "The Monks"...check out Johnny be Rotten, Nice legs, Love in Stereo.
