@amram24 If you weren't there with us at Lybert at the time WE (3IBCT 1ID) were there, you can't say it wasn't bad. You didn't experience the same thing we did. Just sayin...
@xxfabz0169xx i know... i'm just saying the whole time at lybert we didn't have to fire a single round... SFC Monti from 3/71 earned his Medal of Honor in that area so I know how bad it gets up there.
I am Mother of SSG Patrick Lee Lybert. Thank you for your service and for having this video up. I was grateful to see the pics ,,, saddened re: the attack, loss of PVT Murdock and the eventual take over of the abandoned Camp Lybert by the Taliban/Insurgents. Thank you for this gift.
@jefffisher993 Didn't know they brought them, thought they got them when they got there. It just looks funny to see a rifle on a commercial airplane seat.
I agree, it does look funny. But, I'm pretty sure they are issued a rifle and keep that one, and take it with them everywhere> I dont actually know though. I would just imagine its that way.
I rememeber the time we were all getting the rounds out of the buncker. that was a crazy day. I won't forget the day i got promoted up there. we got hit everytime I was about to get pinned
Sometimes i wish i could have done certain things differently. Life happens and i guess you just gotta put it to the past, remember people for the great times, and move forward. How you been SSG E? Hope all is well. Knox is a SHITHOLE, but it's whatever. 6 more months and im OUT!! =] -Farias
Respect to you, even with all the technological advantage on the ennemies, i know i would not have the nerves to go to battle unless it is a paintball game !!! So i really admire your courage.
I hope you all come back unscratched, i know its impossible this is war, but i wish you all the best !
Thankyou so much for sharing your time in afghanistan, my son is there now and you have answered in 8 minutes and 39 seconds almost everything I will never ask him. I pray God will bless you and give you many long and happy years.
guy, you obviously have never been in the army, or deployed... I've been a 13B for seven years and in Iraq and Afghanistan, and we do it all: patrols, SKTs, and yes base defense... we fire our howitzers alot more in Afghanistan, in Iraq all i did was patrols, convoy security, and SKT
Not really sure how to respond to this video. But, what comes to mind is sadness. I am sorry for all that you went through. I'm sorry for the brothers you lost. You ARE appreciated, by me and many. Bless you. Your heart, your mind, your sanity and dreams. Bless your family. Military and blood family. May peace.... be with you.
I'd love for anythinganytime to explain to me why they put cop keating (cop kamdesh) where they did... Although warheit (frische) has a nice view it doesn't really support them at all...
ive heard somee nasty stuff about rc east..my unit leaves in april for afghanistan and rc east is where we are going..we'll be anout 1500 meters from the pakistan border
I was there in Gowardesh before there was a single defense put up. I was with 10th mountain. I was there when we walked up the hill and said this is the spot. How beautiful was that view man? You ever go to the top of Kamdesh village??
