I grew up skating Sadlands from about 1976 until about 1987.
I quit skating for about 15yrs, (I missed out on the whole 1990's small wheels/ baggy pants flippidy trick years) I moved to Portland Oregon, Skatepark Capitol of the World in 03 and I was hooked all over again. All I can say is take care of your skate spots, and if you don't have one, find a good place to build your own DIY. Skating is Golden!
Best place to skate in the anaheim area. Respect the locals and they treated you right. I used to skip savannah all the time to get am/pm "burgers" and skate all day. What a life!!! Peace and respect to all the old sad land friends. Just FYI: by 1990 the city poured rocks on the craters so we couldn't skate anymore.
Did the sadlands get destroyed? I heard some guy say it was destroyed in '89 but I remember skating there in like '99. There was an empty pool we'd skate as well right across the street in a condemned apt. building. Awesome spot and sweet vid!
