  • when i did my first solo the alerons crapped out on me in mid flight it crashed in a field 20 miles from san diego suffered a broken leg and 6/12 ribs broken but it warms my heart to see others do what they love

  • BOLETAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAA

  • LEOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO BOLETAAAAAA

  • Nice job - ive got 5 hrs logged and im due for my solo in about 2-3 hours according to my CFI. Looking forward to it. Was it windy on the day?

  • Your CFI must be a bloody fool! Sending someone solo no matter how good they are after only 8 hours is irresponsible!!

  • From other students (from different schools) I've spoken to, 8 hours is not uncommon, almost all are solo in the circuit only by 10-12 at the latest. No CFI would send someone up they didn't think was ready.

  • Good luck!

  • I wen't solo in a 152 after 6hours, but thats just because i had my ultralight license. :)

  • Great flying, congrats leon =)

  • Hi Leon.

It's a great feeling isn't it. How long did it take to pry the seat cushion from your ass!??

I would suggest a higher and wider approach next time ....do a Boeing circuit. You looked a little low and early on finals.Otherwise ....not being an expert and soloed on the same field you did great. Many happy flying hours ...fly safe and always do your mass and balance and here in SA CHECK YOUR QNH FOR DENSITY ALT.

  • Tx. Almost done with night rating now.

  • sweet

  • Well done. Nice landing. I have been left solo 4 times in 4 different planes, and i must say the emotion is always the same.

  • First solo is the best...I have a wee clip of my helicopter solo in R22 in Wales UK. weather was not so good. Colin United Kingdom

  • how many hours until you can solo or is the instructors call

  • Well done-nice landing! Another 13.5 hours for me till I'll be in your shoes but enjoying every second of learning :) If you ever come to NZ check out Wellington Aero Club :)

  • only 3 weeks til im 16. which means i can get my solo. cant wait.

  • Hi leon. going solo is awesome. I went on fist solo on the 14th of june in ZS-KKC at FAFK, have just finished solo consolidation at FACT.From Mark Busse.

  • Ah yes the Traumahawk...good times

  • Nice one, im hoping to go solo some point this week. Should have been today, but it was called off : gutted. Congrats.

  • Good man!

  • congratulations on the solo. I am due to go solo in 2 or so weeks time in the Pa-38 as well here in australia!

  • Placed the camera on a small tripod in the baggage portion, tripod held to the frame using small bungy cables.

  • Congrats on the solo, Leon. And, I believe the camera was mounted.... no cameraman.

  • hey leon congrats to ur solo!!!

  • Congrats on the solo. I wish you many enjoyable flights throughout the years.

  • Great job. Flown KFV many times along with all the rest of them KKC, KKU, NCG,KBK and KSS. Grat place to fly.

  • mithat87, Fisantekraal is fine to do carb test with, no prob.

At 03:21 in the clip u did some climbing above circuit alt 1200ft, but good job.

  • love the music what is it?

  • Enya

  • in a dusty environment you should'nt do the carburettor check.

  • Congratulations! All the best.

  • well done congratulations

  • well done. i loved the bit where you looked at the camera!!!

    many regards.

  • congratulations on the solo! I too train on the Tomahawk, it's a lovely aircaft. I train at Manchester (EGCC) and usually fly G-BOMO.

  • Great job...I have done a lot of things in my life, but my first solo was one of the great accomplishments. Remember a good pilot is always learning. I heard the stall horn a few times, that shouldn't happen in the pattern. Watch that airspeed, mostly turning base to final. I am working towards my commercial rating, flying a Mooney and loving it!

  • I think the stall warning could just have been turbulent air over the stall vane on the wing.

  • The stall warning on that particular aircraft is very erratic. All was fine.

  • Congratulations!! Was it worth it?? would you recommend it ?

  • Congradulations! I personally hate flying those Tecnam or Tomahawks there just too light I would rather 172 anyday.

  • Congratulations!!

  • nice videos !

  • hey u guys whats the cost for a PPl??

  • Hi AIRANORAK. It simply depends on where you live. Here in the UK it is currently price at about £6,200 (that pays for written exams, landing fees, fuel, aircraft maintenance, and of course 45 hours required flight hours). Just for the record, I'm having my medical at Gatwick Airport on Monday and then I will go solo - and I really cannot wait!!

  • Congratulations Leon, great solo :-)

  • I still remember my first solo, Halloween '06. Everyone jokes about it being scary, but I felt calm.

  • I like that "Whew" look you give us on the downwind. I lived in Milnerton for awhile. Congrats

  • Hey Leon awesome video! Did my first solo in the same aircraft last tuesday. Ask Jaco to introduce you to John & lets go grab some celebratory beers :)

  • Congradulations!
