  • @neochase what you could do is analyse your day and see what sort of times of the day you don't do much (trust me you'll be amazed how much time we waste in our day.) and use those sort of times to practise the absolute basics (depending on your ability.) without your amp while watching TV or waiting for your mates to come over etc. Doing it this way racks up your practise time during the day, the basics eventually become autonomous and your actual allocated time for practise is used for the

  • basically forsake your life and just practice lol! I hate that i dont have eight hours a day to practice.

  • @neochase1 of course 8 hours a day wolud be great but even if you practice 1 hour a day everyday you'll see great imporvement, you just have to practice the right way and pay attention to your technique, a metronome or drum machine is a must have, i think.

  • on

  • Amazing guitarist and amazing user of the Y'Know phrase!

  • i hate tremolo bridges cos im a technical noob - can someone name james guitar here or any pother decent models for metal that do not have floyd rose and all that shit. I am aware of jackson's begginner rr flying v's and obviousely things like les pauls and telecasters and starts.. any other suggestions??

  • @BodomChildBreeder Andys guitar is h-1001 i guess :) and i use myself a seven string Schecter Blackjack atx c-7, an awesome guitar that features Duncan blackout active pickups(much better than emg`s) tonepros tune-o-matic bridge, ebony fretboard, awesome schecter locking tuners and mahogany body. Guitar is also found as 6 and 8 string version as well as 7 string so get a look ! and Schecter hellraiser is also awesome :)

  • I don't agree with this. I think that playing the guitar should be fun, not a chore. If your going to practice certain skills, styles ect, you should make sure you are enjoing what you are practicing. I'm just saying why can't you just have a practice at everything and turn it into a little jam session! :)

  • How do I get a chance to ask him a question?

  • @vanquisher21312 Hi there - thanks for getting in touch, these questions were asked quite a while back when we did live webcasts, they will be available on the website to watch in full soon! However if you have a question you'd like to ask Andy - he does answer questions sent in from licklibrary members via our website forum. Will post the link to the Forum in the description. Hope it helps!

  • @vanquisher21312 Come down to the Roadmender when his band is performing. :)

  • When I read the title, I read "Orgasming Practice Time On Guitar". What's wrong with me?

  • @Vitaum010 hahaha whatever is wrong with me too cause I thought the same thing.

  • @SeanKennerley Hi there unfortunately there isnt a way to get the Tab...as for the velcro type of band - try it see if it works - might not hold on as tightly as an elasticated band though im sure either don't look any less professional. Anyway hope that helps!

  • What guitar is that?...

  • Very constructive advice.

  • andy james practices eating souls for a half hour

  • do a detailed sweeping lesson. i wants to get better... it will deff take a while, but i want to hear how to do it right first

  • i think that if you play a lick too much in a row the lick actually starts to become harder (my experience), if i play the same lick for 45 minutes my fingers and brain get sick of it

  • 1/2 hr doesn't give u enough time to do jacksh1t, so forget it, IMO.

  • yu know

  • i fit all into an hour

  • like this if your the 317 viewer

  • can you pls tell me where i can make dvd requests.

would love to see dvd's on shawn lane (would be really really tough though), jason becker , opeth and stuff

  • The most EPIC guitar player ever... i just love this guy , he's way on the fretboard is unusual , his style is the best ...

  • That was a really good question =D

  • Cheers Andy, it's pretty much what I've been doing since I've been getting Troy Nelson's Guitar Aerobics (search for it on Amazon, YouTube doesn't allow links in comments it seems) about 15 min of technique practice and 15 min of playing over a backing track is pretty much how my practice goes :)

  • andy = god

  • @riseagainstrul33 yes, if you are an 16 years old metalfreak

  • @riseagainstrul33 oh yeah! he plays the most hardest solos in the world!
