Personally I have no preferenc in these two, my currnt card is a nvidia, my 2 cards before that were both ati then one before that nvidia thn on before that ati, just buying what givs the best performance for a certain amount of money.

@2goXD You should be able to since the physx code will become open source on opencl. The same went for nvidia when they acquired agea physx and ran the code on cuda allowing cards as old as the 8600 to run physx.

physx can add some really nice effects, it just causes the game to lag. I can run the game smoothly without physx, but with max physx the game will run at approx 8 fps less on my pc.

you technically can run with physx oh high on most of the game.....just remember to turn it of before some big firefights

@wormsik141 Thats because you have to tweak the physx. Mafia uses dynamic clothing physics on ALL pedestrians which is overkill you won't notice it that much anyway.

So what you have to do is remove all clothing APEX files from your mafia folder except for Vitos and Clothremaptable and m2skeleton.

Enjoy Mafia 2 with much higher framerate while having all physx effects except for the pedestrian ones :)

PhysX for the moment is only possible for PC, good PC's. I don't think PhysX on or off makes much difference (Probably will get better in the future). PhysX for the time being just put shit on the ground (explosions are too fast to notice the difference in real time). I rather hide the shit than make it visible if you ask me.

I've played it on the 360 and own it on pc. the pc version looks better (especially because of the higher resolution)

the particles don't stay visible on the 360 or on pc with physx turned off( like all the little bits of concrete and glass lying around)

I'm not dissing the 360 , i own one and think its a great machine.

but a modern good spec pc is so much more powerful than both the 360 and ps3. remember the technology in these machines is almost 6 years old now.

This game has amazing graphics, but i think the story is kinda short. But i must say im impressed the game worked well maxed out in 1920x1200 and with 32x forced AA. :)
