I have a feeling its the battery because its a 8.4v 7 cell instead of the 10.8v 9 cell one. Do you think that is why it isnt working? thanks, nick .........happy flying
@billfromelma - Thanks for the compliments. I always try to get more sunset footage, but it is very dangerous to fly into a low bight sun. It really does blind you momentarily, and can dissorientate you so you dont know which way the plane is turning. I recently came close to losing my F-16 at 90mph flying into a lovely low sunset. At those speeds and low altitude you have just a fraction of a second to recover before the plane turns into dust. Thanks again!
I'v e read some comments about the paint scheme and I'm also interested if you painted the P-51. My dad was with the 353rd FG during WWII. I believe they had some of the nicest looking P-51s with the yellow and black checked noses.

@Applesauceworld Tail draggers pull to the left on take off. If you don't have a functioning rudder to compensate, you'll have a tough time getting it in the air.
@Applesauceworld I tried putting landing gear on the Parkzone Mustang (the earlier version - "Ferocious Freddie"). The problem is, with no rudder control, it "squirrels" around all over the place. It won't roll straight so it's hard to get air speed for take off. Of course the damn thing was so underpowered, if you didn't have a decent head wind, forget it. I hear the newer version is better powered, though.
If your bored with flying trainers then this will make a good next plane. Just remember it is faster, higher tip stall speed, more responsive and less forgiving. You may have a few bumps getting used to handling it, but you will soon get used to it and find it easy to fly.

make sure you have lipo batteries and not ni-mh. if you have ni-mh you will need to charge and discharge the batteries atleast 5 times before you can fly. if you have lipo then you wil need to put them on a good charger and see what the volts read.
Does anyone know what is the most powerful engine upgrade you can do to a Parkzone Mustang ? I have no idea what size electirc motor I could use.Any imput would be great.infact any upgrade info that can get that little bit more out of my P-51.Thanks
I'm putting an E-Flite Six Series 2700kv motor in mine. It only requires a slight modification of the stock gearbox and it will fit right in. There are probably more powerful ones you can put in it but that's a good upgrade that will give lots more power and it's the easiest one to do.
Great video...I have the ParkZone p-51...never flown it successfully. I was told that I might be throwing it too hard when taking off and passing too much air past the prop...sort of stalling it out. It turns on its side and goes directly into the ground...nose first. Three hits and it was basically destroyed...burned that money pretty quick. Bought all new parts...haven't reassembled, don't want to destroy it again. Should show more landings...though I won'ot get that far...for a landing.
Yep I had the same problem and had to repair mine......I have learnt to throw it more gently on low rates and get ready with right aileron to counteract the torue from the engine but now that it is trimmed properly it is easy to throw.

I really appreciate the Parkzone flyers. I recently bought the Parkzone Focke Wuld 190, and to tell you guys a true thing it outrune a .40 gas r/c trainer in my club. LOL. I modified my Focke, though. I cut out flaps on the wings, installed servos on them, and cut out a rudder. I also put a $200 dollar LRK 350/25 -- 14P 12.5W Brushless electric motor in it. I flies greater then about 10-15 other gas airplanes at my local club, and I think that electric engines are the future for everything.
I have a HZ super cub, my first plane mastered it but i now want to get the parkzone mustang, does anyone know if its a good second plane to fly? as i really dont wanna wreck it on my first flight.
so what LiPo ya got in there? there's no way that's the stock system. i'm gonna try to make some money to buy a LiPo for mine. then i wanna put a 400 outrunner in it.
i put a 370 outruner and a 2300mh lipo and man what a huge increase in speed and run time close to 15 min in my fw 190 but it causes a lot more tourq rool
I read this plane is easier to fly than the parkzone spit. I have the spit and I am really happy with it. Cant see how p51 could be better. These things are real easy to get going with. Good flying.
Good job on timing to the music, you need some transition effects, just use Windows Movie Maker that comes standard in Win XP and add some special effect to your video and it will rock.

@999benhonda - It doesnt come with landing gear, so most people who havent added their own gear have to hand launch.

that (no landing gear) and imagine that each blade of grass,to the landing gear of the rc model is equivalent to a small hedge for the real aircraft.
And i don't see any Mustangs taking off through hedges.

@Applesauceworld -Some people have put landing gear on, as hand launching can sometimes be tricky, but i like flying with no wheels hanging down.

If your not really a Mustang lover, id recomend the Spitfire. Its a better design and is a little more forgiving in flight.
