i think this is the perfect workout for beginners , it pushes you to be better and not quit. if you have to take a break then you take a break. you can always move , there is no excuse not to keep moving. You will get better each time you do the workout.
@dac086 I would totally agree 100%. This workout is NOT for the faint of heart or for the beginners out there. It is DEF not for people that are severely overweight. I'd say those with no more than 30% body fat should even ATTEMPT this workout. I dropped 35lbs over 6 months doing normal cardio, lifting, jumping rope, and boxing. My weight loss has stopped, so I started insanity, and it's helping me drop the extra stubborn weight. Awesome workout, but dangerous if you're a total beginner.
ok so i really need to know what that band around your torso is. I've seen it on the guys in the insanity videos and i have no idea what they're for. Can someone tell me what they're call, purpose, and if necessary where to get them?
i bought insanity about a week ago cant wait for it to get here. really looking forward to the INSANITY. im really fit. just wanted an at home workout that would burn constantly and never get old. cant wait.
it depends. if you are already in good shape then either one is good. if you really want start a program that doesnt involve having to buy any more equipment then the insanity is the way to go. p90x requires more equipment like dumbbells, pull up bar, yoga mat. if you are looking to gain muscle then p90x is the one.
Yep Insanity is definitely about how far do you want to push yourself! I am very surprised that I am doing week 2. I like that I am pushing myself beyond my comfort zone. It shows you can always do more. Also paying attention to heart rate if getting to high then yep take a 10 sec. break. But this is kick ass and I love it. We all must be masochist! LOL
thanks 4kats, i know what you mean about pushing beyond the comfort zone. the heart rate watch helps tons. it helps to know how your previous workout was to compare this one to.
insanity will make you want to quit. i think it is more mentally tougher because you want to keep up with the group but you body tells you to stop but you want to dig deep and push through it. i do like p90x for the muscle but i like insanity for the endurance.
if you are looking for a program i can help if you like. let me know. there are tons of programs that are available that I am trying to help people get into.
Just wanted to know your thoughts regarding ShaunT's Insanity videos. Is Insanity harder than P90x? On the average, how long (minutes) is one Insanity workout? Did your body become sore after the 1st few days of Insanity? Because from experience from P90x, I was sore for 4 days and almost feverish (hahahaha).
Yeah this is insaine for sure have done it for about 5 days now and still have to take a million breaks but it is great cardio workout not a bad 45 minute butt kick... Cant wait to see more updates once this goes live....
Just curious, how long is this video actually supposed to be. When you fade out to another exercise, how much is actually missing? Also for the cool down parts how long is that?? Thanks for posting, it was fun!!
this particular workout, "Plyometrics Cardio Circuit", is about 41 minutes llong.
The "cool down" and stretch is about 3 minutes long at the every end. Until then, you can bet that this video will push you to the next limit all the way through.
YIKES!! I was scared before but now it is official. :-) Can't wait to try this workout. I will definitely need to get a heart monitor before attempting this. Thanks for posting.
I can barely make it through the p90x polymetrics, and anything harder than that sounds pretty intense. Then again, the polymetrics was the best exercise I found, and you felt it for a long time afterwards, regardless of your shape.
Good job:) I finished my first round last month on the first day of school. And I just started Round 2 yesterday again. :D

The only thing I dislike about insanity, it some workouts leave you lop sided (like how you changed it up with alternative jumps) I did the same.
