Hi Ray, loved all your videos, very informative and the scenery is beautiful. I'll be moving to Canberra soon (live in the U.S.A. now) and currently have a Vespa GT200. However my wife and I are going to look at an MP3 500 this afternoon as I'd like to get something with more power and better stability. Do you know if I will be able to use it in Australia??? Not sure if emissions regulations are the same. Regards, Rob
HI, Good Video. Is it the MP3 400 LT? Is it common to have a scooter in Australia? What about Sydney? I live in London, UK and it's very rare compare to where I am from (Paris, France).
Hi Chaval234, Thanks. No it is not the LT, I think that the LT has a foot operated brake and a wider front wheel track than the standard MP3 400 that I have. In Australia, you have to have a full motorcycle license to ride any scooter (or bike) unless it is only 50cc, which can be operated with a car license. I live 950KM (590 miles) north of Sydney, so I can't comment on the amount of scooters there. But on the Gold Coast, I see about one scooter/bike for every 100 or more cars.
We put the medium on ours. One of the club members put on that tall one and it really vibrates at around 65 to 70 mph. One thing I noticed right off was the wind now PUSHES your back forward at 70 so I do pushups while riding to work. ;<)
Thanks for the info Brad, I will probable start doing pushups, while riding as well ;). I have read in the manual that the drive belt should be replaced every 10,000KM, do you do that, and if so what is the cost? Regards Ray
Great video ...... we've had our MP3 for about 9 months and still love it like day one. I'd suggest you buy the larger Piaggio windshield, you will have a very nice ride with it.
Hi Brad. Thanks for the feedback and the info, which size windshield (medium or very large) did you get? I have been thinking about getting the medium size. Regards Ray
