I noticed that the cops still haven't arrived!!! Permit holder's DO call the ambulence AND usually administer medical aid to their attacker if it is safe to do so. You don't know what you're talking about. This is a serious topic - a right that saves lives when we have it, and costs innocent lives when it's oppressed. Where are the cops? Are they still not here? Didn't think so. Would have been much better to be unarmed, I'm sure. Just eat that buckshot instead. Idiot.
you cant shoot someone that is RUNNING AWAY FROM YOU TO ESCAPE that is not directly threating you or another person with serious bodily harm, get this fuckin video off the internet u gonna put good people in jail
Agreed.. shooting a purse snatcher does not warrant shooting the thief in any state. My jaw immediately dropped upon seeing this, as this was clearly covered in my CCDW class.
Yeah it does, it depends on the state, this would be allowed in Texas for example, Texas law specifically allows you to use deadly force to prevent theft, either against yourself, or against a third party if the third party would also have been justified in using deadly force, and they would. You can also be shot for trespassing at night, as well as vandalism to I think. Moral of the story don't steal shit.
Shoot to stop an immediate threat...PERIOD. Remove the first shooting in the video, thats cold blooded murder. Your not a cop, your life is not in danger when the dude is running away. The second video is allright, however, its a threat to your life and thus warranting of a shot. Sorry to rant, but the law is really clear, and murder like the first video gives all us good CCW folks a bad name we don't need.
First one would get you murder because you shot him in the back. As soon as he took off the danger was gone according to law. As for the second, yeah this is kinda right. Except I wouldn't do it with a shotgun to my face, I'd try to move the muzzle from my face then draw. Just because he may still shoot even after I shoot him. CCW's work best if you can draw the firearm before you have a gun to the face.

A crook running off is a life-threatening situation? Get real.

A fleeing criminal poses no threat-Remember that when you go and shoot someone in the back
cway420 3 years ago 4
That situation where the perp is running away is NOT justified, you will go to jail!
The second situation, possibly - but that carjacker already had the draw on you, so you most likely would have been killed during the draw.
Both of these are not even remotely good examples.

The first portion of the video is horrible. It just protrays CCW holders as cold blooded killers. More fuel for the Brady people.

Are you kidding?
Lethal force in defense of property IS legal -- as Joe Horn so rightfully demonstrated.

Not in all states. In most states you can get prosecuted, except states such as Florida which has instituted the castle doctrine.
